Ok, questo è un punto di riferimento da TV non film, ma è ancora l'icona di Chicago e assolutamente merita una visita. Il nome è in effetti un riferimento alla leggenda della maledizione Billy Goat sul Chicago Cubs (che impedisce loro di vincere le World Series), ed è stato Billy Goat Tavern fondatore Billy Sianis che presumibilmente maledetto i Cubs. Questo ha dato il ristorante notorietà locale, che poi si diffuse in tutta la nazione dopo che John Belushi citato la taverna "Cheezborger, Cheezborger, Cheezborger. Non Pepsi. Coca-Cola." segno su disegno "Olympia Cafe" di Sabato Night Live. Il segno è ancora in piedi, e la taverna è ancora nella stessa posizione. Famosa per la sua eredità più cultura pop rispetto al suo cibo (che è tariffa standard grassa pub), la taverna propone diverse birre e ha un juke-box che lavora in un angolo. È possibile visitare in qualsiasi momento e ordinare un cheeseburger con una Coca Cola e guardare la partita Cubs sui televisori.

Prima di tutto sono andato a causa della scenetta SNL. Ma gli hamburger erano grandi. Bella e grassa, proprio come le arterie vogliono.

Penso tu abbia capito. uno dei leggendari senza fronzoli macchie di Chicago, il caprone è uno dei preferiti per tutti coloro che scendere le scale in ventre squallido di Chicago. e parlando di pance, il vostro sarà contento di averlo fatto.

The Billy Goat Tavern is a Chicago institution. Best known for Cheezeborger! Cheezeborger! Cheezeborger! They also have sandwiches. Worth a stop for the atmosphere and history but the food won't leave much of a lasting impression.

This is the original Billy Goat Tavern and was founded in 1937 by Billy Sianis, a Greek immigrant. It achieved fame primarily through newspaper columns by Mike Royko, a supposed curse on the Chicago Cubs and the Olympia Cafe sketch on Saturday Night Live (Cheezborger, Cheezborger, Cheezborger. No Pepsi. Coke).

Meh. I don't like the atmosphere, I didn't like the service, and the food was just passable. My Uncle likes this place because of its newspaper hangout roots, but even by my love of atmospheric bar standards, I'd rather be out in the one of the neighbourhoods. What seems to be left here is tourist trap of which I don't wish to be a member.

Great Cheezborgor place to go to before the BIG game at the United Center. Value burger + fries plus excellent coca-cola! Super fun atmosphere and the double cheezeburger is fabulous.

The burger was very greasy, but passable. More of a stop just to say I've been there! Hard to find, unless you are looking for it, since it is under the Magnificent Mile. Small, crowded and loud....I don't need to go back. If you were a fan of Saturday Night Live, and liked the skit, then go....if not, there are so many other, more worthwhile places to visit.

Found this place by accident wandering the streets of Chicago. Hubbie and I were hungry and it was the closest thing around. We had no idea about its history or its popularity on SNL until we were inside. The place is an absolute dive, and I don't mean that in a good way. The burgers were obviously frozen patties that were placed on a stale, oversized bun. On the way out I saw a sign that said "voted best burger in Chicago" by so and so. I laughed and told my Hubbie, "if this is the best burger in Chicago, people here have never had a good burger". Seriously, don't waste your time unless you are really hung up on the SNL connection.

Billy Goat was made famous outside of Chicago by the original cast of Saturday Night Live sketch featuring the Olympia Cafe—"Cheeborger, Cheeborger, Cheeborger, no fries, chip, no coke, pepsi". It's almost exactly what you'd expect from that sketch, too. They are good cheeseburgers suitable for a late night knosh.

This isn't the original location, which was over by what is now the United Center, and it might take a little bit to find it since the street is at two levels there. You want to be on the lower level, so look for the stairs down from Michigan. There are some other, easier to find locations but they don't have the same atmosphere.

So it's not the best burger in the world but certainly one of the best experiences. It's been parodied on SNL and lives up to expectations. Cheeseburger Cheeseburger. No Coke, Pepsi.
