favoloso tramonto sul Nilo mentre ci si rilassa dopo una giornata nella Valle dei Re. Ottimo cibo e ottima compagnia mafe questo un soggiorno da sogno.
I call Luxor hell because it was hot as hell in Luxor (110 degrees F/42 degrees C) during my stay, but staying at the Jolie Ville made my stay feel like heaven - absolute heaven! The hotel grounds are nice, and the price was just right. It was such an amazing deal and value for the money I want to come back here again and again.
Check-in was fast and smooth. I was greeted with hibiscus juice and a "Welcome Home!" I was carted to my room, which was very clean but not as modern as some reviewers had mentioned. The A/C was also a bit weak if you leave it on for too long, but it did the job. The room was provided with soap and shampoos, a hair dryer, a flat screen TV, a safety box, two chairs, a patio, and clean sheets and towels. Housekeeping brings you 1 free water bottle every day of your stay. There was also free Wi-Fi throughout the resort, as well as in the room, but it was pretty weak. It didn't matter to me because who needs the Internet when you have 3 pools, a zoo, a huge garden, and tennis courts to keep you busy?
I enjoyed the Horizon pool the best, which is located right by the spa and fitness center/gym. The pool had a jungle gym for kids, as well as a little waterfall. It was gorgeous! The fitness center is open from 8 AM to 11 PM and included yoga mats, treadmills, free weights, Nintendo Wii, and various exercise machines. I wish it was open earlier so that I could have done a workout before my early mornings touring Luxor. Abdullah (?) was very sweet and provided exceptional service.
Breakfast was included in the cost of the hotel room and was pretty good. They served the breakfast buffet from 5 AM - 10:30 AM and it had pancakes, waffles, French Toast (though not good), various breads and pastries, cereal, Egyptian food, an omelette bar, salad bar, sausages, beans, eggs, other hot foods, fruits and jams, and coffee/tea. The service was good. They even pack you a breakfast takeway box if you have an early morning! You need to request specific items that you want in it, otherwise they default to a cold cuts sandwich, a banana, pineapple juice, a croissant, and some other stale bread. It's not very healthy, so I had requested hard boiled eggs in my takeaway box.
To note, the activities stated they have yoga there, but it's not real yoga for any of you real yoga practitioners. There are various kids activities to do, so you're never short of things to do at the resort! This was the best retreat from the ridiculous heat of Luxor, and the best place to be after a long day of touring the Valley of Kings. The hotel does provide shuttle busses to 3 different locations 4 times a day starting at 12 PM and ending around 9 PM. We didn't use this because the timing wasn't convenient, but taxi tariffs are posted on their activities log and very cheap to get around town.
I would highly recommend staying here, and I would definitely come back here again to this sweet little paradise!
