This hotel was extremely refined and pleasant to stay at. My daughter loved it the most as they had mango lollipops at the check in desk so she was able to get a couple of them.
The rooms here are very comfortable and everything seemed pretty up to snuff. I didnt have that many interactions with the staff, but the few that I did went quite well. The room was very clean and the linens and towels were freshly laundered.
They have a complimentary breakfast depending on your package. The food here is a combination of Eastern and Western fare. I found that they would run out of certain things here, if you were not ready to roll quickly.
Perhaps due to this hotel's more metropolitan aspects, or just perhaps its being in Shanghai (more modern) made this my favorite hotel that I spent time at while I was in China.
The front desk staff was able to communicate quite effectively. The concierge was also seemingly fluent. They had a bar and a large amount of seating in the entrance area to the hotel.
This is definitely a hotel that I would be happy to stay at again. It also helped that my package was one that filled rooms here regularly I believe. The staff was definitely used to dealing with westerners and those from outside China. The number of businessmen was definitely interesting, as I didnt see anything like that in the other cities I stayed at in China. It kind of gives it away that this city is booming economically.
In summation, this hotel is well worth staying at if you can get in =)
