Very nice, centrally located hotel

The hotel was very centrally located, which was a big plus for our trip. We were able to bring our purchases quite comfortably into the room and then continued to walk relaxed through the city center.
Particularly beautiful is the wonderful terrace where you can have breakfast outside very pleasant. Since we were not there in high season, there was always enough space.
Breakfast is manageable, but everything important is available. You always get fresh coffee. The staff is always very polite, friendly and attentive. The reception was exceptionally helpful and very nice.
Parking in the car park for guests included
The rooms are really impressively large, with ceilings about 4 meters high, which creates a great sense of space. We also had a beautiful view of the mountains.
Overall a great service and a very pleasant stay. We would definitely recommend this hotel again.

Poor hygiene and poorly maintained hotel. Greedy management.

We chose this hotel during our tour of Albania to stay here during our stopover in Berat.
A mistake in front.
Management seems to have no interest in maintaining the hotel.
Hallway and general areas:
On the surface everything looks fine (mostly).
However, all lamps in this house have felt a defect.
Either they flicker or they don't leave at all. Could definitely be used for a horror movie backdrop.
Rooms:
The rooms are hygienically an absolute disaster.
Cleaning equals zero.
The bathroom looks like if it has never been cleaned clean (pictures to follow).
Since there were also hairs of the guests in front of us we decided against showering.
Especially since we also had silverfish in the room.
Breakfast:
A selection has existed however it is sad when a hotel in a coffee loving country offers filter coffee from the pot. Which also tasted like dish soap.
Service:
Originally we had booked for one day but wanted to book another day because we had decided to stay one night longer.
This was before we had a closer look at the rooms.
We were quoted a price by the service staff of 65€ per night (our room for the first night cost 55€).
We had agreed and later in the evening we were advised by the reception staff that the management does not want 65€ but 75€.
This action alone was bold.
We subsequently decided to change the hotel for the second night.
Conclusion:
You try to save money on basic services of the hotel and let the shed rot completely.
The only plus is the location.

Best Hotel in Berat

had a wonderful stay at Portik Hotel in Berat! The room was very clean, comfortable, and had a beautiful view of the old town. The staff were extremely kind and helpful during my entire stay. I really enjoyed the breakfast – everything was fresh and delicious. The location was perfect for exploring the city. I truly felt welcomed and relaxed. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Berat

Lacks some basic in-room facilities

This hotel looks nice from the outside and the rooms are airy and spacious. But a few amenities are lacking. There is no drinking water provided, except at a cost, and there are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. The bathroom hand basin has no bench space on which to place a toilet bag. There is no in-room safe. As we are on a tour, i am unsure of the room rate, so can't assess value for money. The hotel is conveniently located in the town, within easy walking distance of many restaurants and cafes.
