The chap who signed us in was very pleasant. He had trouble taking payment off out Hotels.com reservation so we had to go back later with a physical card. No idea why this occurred as we usually have no trouble with reservation payments. Room was compact but included all the necessities. Shows some renovations have been well done. However we had an issue with the bed, which while comfy on the surface, dipped markedly in the middle like the springs were gone. The other issue was the aircon - the unit was about 45 years old and couldn’t maintain a steady temperature. It was a very cold night so we needed to keep it on because the bathroom windows were the old louvre type and let in the draught. However it kept cutting out and some minutes later would restart with great noise and vibration. We eventually turned it off about 3am as we were having trouble getting and staying asleep. As a place to put your head down and move on next day it was tolerable.

Barramundi Laksa

Delicious meals. I ordered the Barramundi Laksa and thought to myself why am I ordering a Laksa at a pub but thought I would give it a chance. It was absolutely delicious and I will be back for another real soon. Just as good as any Laksa I've had at any Malaysian restaurant but this one was served with a beautiful slab of Barra on top and also comes with Prawns as a bonus.

Wake up and support your local patrons

Been drinking at Northside (Garro) for 30 years, and now with new management decide to take off the most popular beer in Australia - Great Northern. Don't worry about the locals who support the pub 3-4 days a week, disgraceful.
Lion Nathan contract or not, you can still provide your patrons with foreign beer under the contract. Why would you drink a beer you don't want to drink and be charged over $8.50 plus for a schooner when you can walk 50m at get Great Northern for $6.00.
Wake up and stop using pokies to feed your pockets in profit and give the pub back to the locals who week in week out support it 52 weeks a year.
