Disappointed in a world class hotel brand, did not meet expectations.
First impression was poor with the room having curtains hanging off their hooks giving the room a very 2nd rate look.
2. The kettle had a disgusting smell which tainted the water for the tea and coffee. The kettle was exchanged after a complaint the following morning.
3. Dinner in the Atrium restaurant the evening we arrived was extremely disappointing. The area was very poorly lit. Not so poor however that we failed to see that the chicken schnitzel and chips were very over cooked and the rice served with the curry dish had obviously been sitting in a mold for a very long time and was compacted and flavourless. The lights finally came on at 7.30!
4 That evening there was a heavy rain event. Our room developed quite a serious leak near the windows wetting some of our luggage.
On reporting this to a staff member he responded with “ the hotel leaking everywhere…I have been putting buckets around….can you put a bucket under it?”? We did put our wastepaper bin under the drip, but at no point did staff come to investigate. In the morning, the bin had an inch of water.
5. I was surprised that our room was only partially serviced each day.
The bins were emptied and the towels refolded, but in the 3 nights we were there the bed was never made up for us.
6. Not sure if the build up of calcium around the base of the shower wall panels has ever been cleaned.
A positive was the bar person who was very obliging with helping obtain ice for drinks.
In summary, disappointed in what we expected from a world class brand as Rydges.

AVOID THIS PLACE!
They don't tell you there is a $35 surcharge for parking
Room 512 - backs onto the lift shafts which are noisy as hell and run all night.
Room service - 2 pizzas and a burger+ chips came up stone cold.
Breakfast - included in rate and came out Cold. Coffees didn't come out with the meal. Had to get them to go and were cold.
Terrible experience especially at the price point.
