Surprise Spare of the Moment Booking

A spare of the moment booking as a surprise. We stayed in couples cabin. Well appointed, comfortable bed and adequate space for a long weekend. The park is being renovated but still reasonably quiet. Friendly management and staff. Quick check in. The weather wasn’t too kind, which restricted walking around locally but beautiful tropical shrubs and bushes. The hibiscus and fragrant flowers just outside the bedroom window were very pleasant.

Neat cabin, reasonably quiet and unique location. A spare of the moment booking in a location we had never stayed.
Well appointed for a cabin, that’s not meant to sound derogatory either.
Staff were very helpful and friendly.

We arrived at Lillyponds around 5pm, our key had been left out for us. We see there two nights and didn’t see the owners or any staff while we were there, this seemed unusual. When we left we had to leave the key in an unlocked box. People were trying to access the office for change for washing machines. I would have liked to ask if there was a hair dryer I could borrow no one available. Very nice gardens around the park.

A quiet park with mainly permanent residents

We booked 3 nights on a powered site at Lilyponds. It was a very quiet park, (except for some noise one night from a permanent resident neighbour), with mainly permanent residents, so we missed the usual camping camaraderie of meeting and chatting with other campers. Also we did not get to meet the owners. The park grounds were planted with lovely trees and shrubs, so the setting was attractive, and the Park was well-situated for exploring the Blackall Ranges and Sunshine Coast. The amenities were dated, but clean. Site fees were reasonably priced.
