Affordable, clean, well located

The location is unbeatable, right on the beach with clear and calm waters. You can see dolphins from the beach, and the location is great for some snorkelling or walking along the long and sandy beach. The room itself was comfortable, well appointed and clean. For the price, this is an excellent place to stay, although bear in mind due to its location, you must pay an additional fee on arrival due to it being within the Monkey Mia heritage area.

Considering we paid top dollar for what was advertised as a “resort,” the experience was very substandard. The room had several issues — the taps were connected the wrong way around, which made using them confusing, and once we figured that out, the water pressure was terrible. It also took a long time for the hot water to come through. On arrival, we had to search through cupboards to find towels and hand towels, and there was no bathmat provided, which really shouldn’t happen at this price point.
The food was below the standard we expected, and being woken early by noisy leaf blowers right outside our room made it difficult to relax. These things added up and definitely impacted the overall comfort of our stay.
That said, the location and views were absolutely amazing, and that helped ensure our experience wasn’t completely tarnished. Still, given the cost and the number of issues we encountered, I would think twice about staying here again unless improvements are made.

Property generally in need of refurbishment. Looks a bit shabby on the exterior. On site store has limited range for self catering. Heated pool great!

Great stopover.

We recently stayed at the Monkey Mia Resort for three nights and found it to be a real hidden gem. The dolphin feeding experience was a highlight, and we were lucky enough to see dolphins lingering in the bay on most days. Throughout the day, staff regularly came down to the beach with microphones to explain what was happening, which added a nice educational touch.
We also spotted a leatherback turtle near the pier and were told sightings can occur throughout the day. Emus wandered freely around the resort, which added to the unique atmosphere. The on-site restaurant served solid, good-quality food, and the nearby town of Denham is just a short drive away if you want more dining or supplies.
Our room (7) was well equipped, clean, and had reliable Wi-Fi. It also had a gas BBQ, which we didn’t use but would be great for longer stays. Being right on the beachfront meant we had excellent sunset views each evening.
Overall, there was very little to fault. It’s a bit off the beaten track, but very welcoming and well worth the stopover.

Disappointing experience

Overall a very disappointing experience.
The welcome at reception when we arrived was fairly cool very transactional and not particularly engaging. Failed to provide any meaningful information for our stay including not telling we had breakfast included (which we therefore missed).
We booked a sea view room. The sea view was lovely the room less so. It had a kitchenette but although there was a toaster, a coffee machine, a kettle and a chocolate frother there was only 1 double socket high on the wall behind the microwave, so ridiculously difficult to get to. The fan in the small bathroom was so loud it sounded like a small airplane taking off.
The Dolphins were great but you don’t have to stay at the RAC resort to see them. Food at the onsite restaurant was distinctly average but expensive.. in fact everything is expensive as there are no alternative providers you’re a captive audience.
