Never again
The place is as tired as other people's reviews suggest.
The carpets need replacing, stained in multiple places. The chair in the room was filthy. Dark greasy stains all over the armrests.
All the doors and walls had dirty hand prints on them which are very easy to see with the afternoon light shining through the room.
The Bathroom was clean, thank goodness and the bed was comfortable, but that is where the positives end. The bed is made with sheets only and not tucked in at the head of the bed. And the brown fleece blanket that I found in the very hard to open wardrobe smelled dirty too.
One teaspoon available for tea or coffee, had dried up yogurt and dirty finger prints. I took it to reception for a replacement and was not even offered an apology, Clearly this happens often.
I had asked if there was an ice cube tray available in the room. Her response was a non answer saying that some rooms had broken ones.
When i returned the spoon, I was given a silicone ice cube tray that she found somewhere, which was also dirty with white residue inside it.

No excuse for a dirty room. Except laziness.

Below the average Australian stander for accommodation.
Rooms are not serviced daily, so no clean towels, no tea, coffee ect unless you go to the office for more. Bed isn’t made up. The exhaust van did not work in bathroom & it had no window. Shower & toilet had mould. Skirting boards & fans full of dust. It is ran down & appears little maintenance is done. We had to clean the fridge before we could used it. The towel was dirty on arrival so I had to go to the office and get another one.
They need new cleaners because the hygiene of the room was poor to say the least. Way below Australian standards.

Good place to stay on the Esplanade
The motor inn is very central on the esplanade close to a pub with
good meals and very close to Urangan pier
Our room was clean and our car was undercover and bed as very comfortable we will definitely stay again

A rare gem of great value in a fabulous location
The only things that could be improved: a bedside lamp would have been great and although the staff were polite, they could be a bit more friendly.
