Perfect vacation

Perfect hotel for relaxing after a long mountain hike. Great service, friendly staff, food varied and of very good quality. The rooms were clean, although the carpeting itself is not necessarily modern.
Beautiful sauna area with enough space, there was fruit, water, and tea.
All in all, we had a very pleasant stay. We would love to come back!

I did not get the facilities/service I expected when I booked this hotel, the description of the hotel is misleading

I booked this hotel based on its description as a 4-star property offering a spa, ski-in/ski-out access, and free parking. Unfortunately, my experience did not match these claims:
Sound insulation: There is very poor soundproofing between rooms. I even recorded a video in the early morning where a baby crying in a neighboring room was clearly audible, illustrating the lack of adequate sound insulation (the baby was in a different room).
Room size: The family rooms are quite small and offer very limited storage space, making it difficult for a family to manage their belongings comfortably during a multi-day stay.
Parking: Although the hotel advertises free parking, there are only around 25 parking spaces for approximately 70–80 rooms. A few days before arrival, guests are informed that the free parking is actually located about 750 meters away. You must leave your car key at reception so staff can move your vehicle between the hotel and the parking area. While you can walk to the parking yourself, this is not advisable in the dark due to road conditions. Additionally, I was blocked twice in the garage by supplier trucks when trying to leave, once for 12 minutes, with little concern shown by the driver.
Spa: The “spa” consists only of a sauna and rest areas. There is no pool or jacuzzi, and children under 16 are not permitted.
Ski-in/ski-out: The ski-in/ski-out access requires a relatively high level of skiing ability and is certainly not suitable for younger children.
Overall, I felt that the hotel was significantly overpriced for the level of service and facilities provided.

Better then expected

After reading some reviews I was a bit concerned. To my relief the hotel was great, the checking in was easy with an offer of a snack at the bar which the children enjoyed after a long journey. The 2 bedroom suite was large with 2 bathrooms which was ideal for our teenagers. Nice bright balcony and seating areas. The room came with a parking space in hotel car park which was perfect. We were on HB basis and the food was gorgeous. The restaurant was lovely and service good. The spa area was nice. Our whole experience at the hotel was excellent. The hotel is ski in and out as long as you can ski. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Every year a trip worth it!

Also with our now 6th Winter holidays at the Residenz Hochalm in Saalbach-Hinterglemm have simply everything right again. For us it has long been more than just a hotel – it has become our annual winter home. And, of course, it is already clear: We will come back!
What makes this place so special is above all the exceptionally friendly and attentive team. Service is truly lived here – always warm, professional and with a smile. Whether at the reception, in the restaurant or at the ski service: You can feel that the employees really care about the well-being of the guests. The service definitely goes far beyond what you are used to.
The atmosphere at the hotel is modern and stylish, at the same time incredibly cozy and personal. You feel relaxed and welcome from the first moment.
Culinary every day is a highlight: The chef surprises every night with a great menu – creative, high-quality and simply “the awesome”. The bar is also very special: The cocktails are absolutely awesome and are among the best we have ever enjoyed.
For us, the Residenz Hochalm is the highlight of the winter season every year – a place to arrive, feel good and enjoy. Thanks for unforgettable days – we are already looking forward to next time! ✨❄️

Unfortunately disappointed

We stayed at the hotel for the second time the first time we had a nice room and the food was very good. This time the room was in the last corner with a street as a view. In the last week, renovation work was started above or next to us, we did not find that appropriate. From the food we were totally disappointed.
