Very nice hotel. A bit poor wife coverage. But amazing restaurant. Pool and sauna. And staff is super friendly. A hidden gem.

Frustration statt Fabelhaft und Fine Dining

Hotel Mood (1 * out of 10):
Stylish and from the interior a gruesome mix from the 60s. The old-fashioned hotel foyer and the frayed carpets are reminiscent of a nursing home.
Cleanliness (1 * out of 10):
Below the mattress a hodgepodge of tablets, remnants of Manner paper, dust, petals, cobwebs. In the dining rooms: Cobwebs of plants / pictures woven to the wall. Parasols partially stained by black-brown modem.
Terrasse (1 * von 10):
Even in the best weather you could not use the terrace for breakfast or dinner. Instead of “Today we have NO terrace operation!” it would have been better: “Even in nice weather NO terrace operation!”.
Restaurant (1 * von 10):
Frustration: Porcini soup watery, decorated with a few lost chives tips. Roast onion: two scraps of cut meat drowned in a sauce tsunami. Bach char with extremely bland tasting potatoes. The photo galleries div. Website published photos (dish / plate decoration) come from a better time and more talented chefs. 5 minutes away on the Kogelberg there is a real top restaurant!
Service (1 * von 10):
My wife would have liked to have a drink on the garden terrace after dinner in the restaurant at just after 9pm. She was harshly opposed to this by the Service manager, stating that she “wouldn’t get paid to be there after 10pm.”
I had planned to point out a few of the above criticisms on the day we left. However, we were not asked at all if everything was okay, but we were handed the bill almost wordlessly for payment.
Conclusion: In my opinion, this hotel and restaurant do not deserve the rating “Fabulous”, nor is it justified in my opinion that this property participates in booking.com’s Preferred Partner Program (“Good Service”, “Good Price Quality Ratio”).

Nice. well equipped but unfortunately with shortcomings in detail
Well equipped hotel in a good location and with very good cuisine. Unfortunately, a number of small things cloud the overall picture. For a 4 star house with corresponding room rate which is more on the Higher side lacks diverse details. So there is no free mineral water in the room. Vanitiy kits and bags for dirty laundry are missing. But there are refrigerators throughout the hotel where drinks can be taken on a Honesty basis - but at prices that are inappropriate for self-Service.
Those who happen to stay on Sunday or Monday will find all rooms suitable for staying locked except the foyer - day of rest.
The bar when open (rest day!!) closes around 10:00. Of course, a supply via the mentioned refrigerators is possible - sitting comfortably is something else.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Also the swimming pool is absolutely fine.Breakfast is adequate in terms of choice but also not above average for the hotel categories
Summary:
The house itself is really nice, but you get the impression that savings are made on all corners and you try to leave out details or charge the guest. The interior decoration is also rather sober and objective. The attention to detail that often distinguishes independent hotel is missing.
Certainly the lack of staff is a problem, but with a fully occupied house to take 2 rest days that also affect bar and seating is incomprehensible. Sure - a full kitchen operation is only possible with sufficient staff and then the kitchen may have to take rest days in case of scarcity. But bar and seating can be organised with one person, and the potential turnover should allow such a force to be financed.
Unfortunately, this creates the impression of a tidy, somewhat objective conference hotel that does not do justice to the house. Before this impression the price/performance ratio unfortunately not good. More would be possible here with little effort

A nice and quite place
This hotel is not very big, but does have quite a few assets. One of them is, that it is near Leibnitz, but not too close either. The room was very comfortable with a gorgeous view. The shower was the weakest point of the room, but still quite acceptable. As almost always in Austria the staff was very friendly (with one exception). The dinner is very good (be sure to book a table as their restaurant is quite full all the time, and being a hotel guest does not give you any priority). The breakfast was quite nice, without being top.

Top service
Accommodation including wellness, food and service are excellent.
I really liked the wellness area with indoor pool and all the wellness options. The house is highly recommended.
Unfortunately I had forgotten something in the house, but it was readily sent to me.
