Modern hotel near the main train station
The accommodation is located 10 minutes by car from the main train station. The room is pleasantly sized. There is enough storage space, even in the bathroom. The Wi-Fi works very well. There are power outlets by the bed, including USB and USB-C. The bed is pleasantly soft. There is air conditioning. There is a TV, table, armchair, chair, refrigerator, safe, free water, kettle, tea, coffee, coffee maker, and coat hooks. There is no full-length mirror. Soap and shower gel are provided. A hairdryer is available. The curtains darken semi-well in the early evening. There are strange lights on the floor that cannot be turned off. The staff is friendly.

Excellent choice of hotel
We have just returned from a 9 night stay at the hotel; we had a wonderful stay.
Everything was clean and tidy; the staff were very friendly; our room had everything we needed; the shower was particularly good; there was plenty of very nice food at breakfast.
We liked very much that the hotel gives a €5 voucher for any day you don’t have your room cleaned. This could then be spent in the bar or restaurant - what a great idea!
The hotel is in a good location, handy for trains and many bus lines.
Our room overlooked the street which was a bit noisy with the windows open; but once they were shut we couldn’t hear anything.
The extra tax that the city charges (currently 50c per person per night) for your accommodation to then provide a Guest Mobility ticket was fabulous. We got the train to Werfen and Zell am See; the bus to Bad Ischl and Hellbrunn Palace; and various buses and trams round the city and it cost us nothing at all with our Guest Mobility ticket.
We only had one negative comment about the hotel - the bar area is very small and was very warm. The hotel restaurant is very popular with guests of the hotel, and many others, and the tables in the lovely seating area outside, and in the inside seating area were very busy a lot of the time. They were then seating guests to eat in the small bar area which often left only a few stools at the bar to sit for a drink. It would be nice to have a slightly larger area just for those wanting to have drinks; as guests of the hotel it was a bit disappointing not to be able to sit comfortably and have drinks.
I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel to anyone planning to visit Salzburg.

Well located hotel near the train station, coach tours and Mirabell Gardens. An easy 10-12 min walk to the old town and river. Hotel is clean and well looked after. The rooms are modern and straightforward. The beds comfy and good bathrooms. It is quiet too. Excellent staff and a lovely and popular restaurant. Excellent schnitzel. A very good stay in a beautiful city.

Disappointed
Nice hotel although the room we were allocated had no view, apparently a deluxe room but not in my opinion .
Looking outside the are was dirty and had netting up and down.
All the pictures/layouts of rooms do not show room 108 in any imlauer or Expedia sites.

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Imlauer & Bräu. The staff were wonderful and made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our visit.
The location was excellent - very close to Mirabell Palace and Gardens and within easy walking distance of Salzburg's main sights, while still being peaceful and quiet.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would happily return on a future trip to Salzburg, and would highly recommend this hotel to others.
