STOP! Let for all in the world not book accommodation here!
Sorry in advance that this will be a little long, but I have to tell this story.
We are a family of two adults and two large teenagers who had booked two rooms for three nights on our trip down through Europe on our way to Croatia.
We have previously stayed in one- and two-star hotels, which have been significantly cheaper, and we have never experienced anything so nasty and a staff so unfriendly as at this hotel.
We arrive at 18 o’clock and are greeted by an unarmed female evening portier who almost shakes me out when I ask why I have to fill out two whole pages with personal information on everyone in our company – so it starts really well.
We get our room keys and move up to the 2nd floor where our rooms are located. We lock ourselves into the first room and are greeted by a terrible stink of something that most likely has been mold.
Then the other room could only be better. We get to room two, which lies further here at a time – here the door is open, there are towels on the floor, and the mattresses have no linen on. On the other hand, they are filled with large stains, and on the table lies moulded bread.
I go back to the “friendly” evening portier and ask for two new rooms, but they are told that they only have one room available, since all their housewives have registered ill. I tell you that we go out and eat, and that I expect that she has solved the problem when we return.
We will return after a few hours, and I will address the reception where I of course expect some action to be taken on the issue, but nothing has happened. I get to know that this is what I can expect at that price and with that location.
I ask if she has been up in the room and smelled how bad it smells, but she doesn't think it's so bad, and offers that we can get a fresh air spray with up.
Now my patience is exhausted, and I demand to talk to the manager, but get to know that she's not back until the next day. I'm asking her to call her and maybe I see a little threatening about her, so she does as I say.
However, I am not allowed to speak to the manager at this time, but the portier is talking to her, and I can understand with my very poor German that she is pretty tired of me.
The solution is that we will be upgraded to their other hotel on the other side of the street (where the reception is also located) – but only the next morning, as there are no available rooms.
It also means that my wife and I have to spend a night in that room that stinks and is definitely harmful to health.
That night I don’t sleep much, and the next morning I go directly over and talk to the manager to get in touch with the new rooms at the other “fine” hotel. Here I am greeted by a somewhat more friendly person who can finally give us two new rooms in the nice hotel – though after some tightening, as she initially only wanted to upgrade the one room.
Hotel Neuter Express lives fully up to its bad reputation, and for all the world let’s not book a night here!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL.
Is the worst hotel that I’ve ever stayed at- there’s nothing in a proper listing saying that they don’t have air-conditioning and it was nearly 90°. I woke up the first night in a hot sweat, I did not sleep well so also I did not enjoy the next day of my trip.
I called hotels.com, and the property refused to refund me due to this bait and switch of the selling of the room.
The hotel responded, saying, “ since we don't have air conditioning, it obviously cannot be malfunctioning. the new category of room has a terrace, which means even more flies could get in.”
Are they kidding ? It’s my fault that I need to open the balcony door due to the heat- it’s my fault that you don’t have screens on your windows or doors?
DO NOT BOOK HERE.

The only good thing about this “express” hotel is the location. Otherwise we found it was totally run-down, uncomfortable, and staff lacked people skills. We were there on hot days and had to sleep with the windows/door to the street wide open because the small fan in the room was almost non-functional. The hallway carpets have multiple nasty spots, the walls in the rooms need a good scrub or paint job, and the bathroom sink and tub had hard water stains. Would not recommend.

Disgracefully overpriced and looks like a condemned house.
For this price it’s an absolute disgrace. Incredible outdated rooms. Disgusting wall to wall carpet everywhere. Bad smell in the rooms and NO ventilation what so ever. There was a fan in the room but it is just whisping the hot air around and the window looks broken with debree all around. Nothing looks clean except the bed (thankfully). Breakfast not included and ridiculously expensive. The front desk is in a separate building that looks much more modern. For a third of the price I would not have had cause to complain but this is a premium priced place. Shameful. Ruined our family visit somewhat. Pictures provided by previous guests are accurate.
