Relaxing in the mountains
This place is usually full of sking guests during winter season. During summer it is a place to relax, to hike and listen to the singing birds. Quiet place, but still a lot to do incase you’d like to have some entertainment. There is a spa, fun wellness near in Bad Mitterndorf with a discount and seasonal festivals nearby.

Best location in Tauplitz.
We are very fastidious but everything was perfect. I would like to call attention to the excellent kitchen and the chef. A room was clean, the bed was very comfortable. Best location in winter and also in summer. We are going back to ski in winter.

Fish stinks from head!
The hotel: a weak three star hotel. Small and tight bathrooms, no hanger in the bathroom, the washbasin was unstable, room is stinky, doors and walls are thin so it was noisy. Wifi did not work well.
Food: quality of food was acceptable, after dinner they serve import cake (means they did not make it, just bought from store). The man who operates the hotel came there every day while people had dinner, he checked how much soup we draw from the cauldron. They have very few things for salads and you can easily recognize vegetables from previous lunch or dinner.
One family in our group asked for a clean table clothes. He brought one and put the clean one on the dirty one!
Another person in the group went down to the bar Saturday evening 9.30 to drink something but the whole place was closed! same person a day before went down for a coffee. This man checked one glass if that was clean, our group member has seen it was dirty, but this man poured the coffee into this dirty glass! Brrrrrr!
This man and his co-workers regularly yelling with the kids an try to stop them in their activity.
Storage room for skies: it is OK but narrow. The problem is if someone from your family stays in your room then you need to organize the key to be with you to go out from the hotel, as the room key open the outside door and you have to close it, but then somehow you have to give back the room key to your family member, so two keys would be more practical, but there is only one key per room!
Parking: they do not have parking lot at the hotel, you have to go to the other side of the street to park your car. It is not far from the hotel, just inconvenient.
Ski slopes and ski lifts, and Tauplitz, itself: the village is small, there is nothing you can find to amuse yourself. There is one playground to kids. There is a very small SPAR (grocery). There was impossible to buy same products in two consecutive days, and I talk about basic things such as yogurt, banana etc....
The ski lift from the hotel is about 350-400 meters NOT 200 meters as they write on their website. This would not be too far if the way would be straight, but instead you have to walk up in your ski clothes fully equipped including your skis and everything, so it is exhausting to walk up! Specially think twice with kids! There is no ski storage at the ski lift so you have no chance to leave your skies there for next day. Skipass of course is expensive, but the ski lift system is terrible. As we've been to almost 30 different ski resort in our life we never experienced such a bad ski lit system. You have to walk a lot from one point to another, and it wastes your valuable time! Pistes were not in the best conditions as well, they do not maintain everyday.
Think well before you make your reservation into this hotel and into this village. Go somewhere else, there are plenty of wonderful ski resorts around in Austria.

Sehr freundlich und entgegenkommend
Wir verbrachten ein WE in Tauplitz, um den Grimming zu besteigen. Das Hotel ist sauber. Unser Zimmer war ruhig und ausreichend groß. Besonders zu erwähnen ist die Freundlichkeit und das Entgegenkommen des Personals. Wir bekamen ein sehr gutes Frühstück um 5h30, welches eine optimale Grundlage für die anspruchsvolle und lange Tour auf den Grimming bildete. Vielen Dank nochmals dafür !

Gutes Abendessen in akzeptabler Atmosphäre
Wir waren relativ früh am Nachmittag in diesem Restaurant essen. Wir bestellten 2 Pizzen sowie den Hausburger. Das Essen war sehr schmackhaft und von guter Qualität. Der Kellner war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Einzig die Atmosphäre in diesem Restaurant war nicht so toll. Es ist zwar alles sauber aber die Einrichtung ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Sowas war in den 1980er Jahren modern.
Insgesamt kann ich den Besuch dieses Restaurants für ein einfaches Essen empfehlen.
