No air conditioning in the apartment/room. There is garbage in the room when we moved in. As the room was VERY HOT, I requested an additional fan and pillows. The front desk staff is very helpful with my request. The location of the hotel is very close to the central station. I probably would not stay in this hotel in the summer again as it is VERY HOT even with two fans. I would consider staying here again if it is not summer.

This was not our first stay at Smartments, we have always picked the Studio XL, its in a good location at a good price and the rooms are what you want if you don't want to do a standard hotel but want to have the freedom to prep your own meals etc.
Our check in was smooth, on opening the room door we were greeted with strange smell, it only seemed to be near the inside of the door but you noticed it every time you entered, didn't matter how much we cleaned the area and the kitchen area it still lingered, beside that the room fittings are now starting to look worn and well used.
On the plus the rooms are clean otherwise the shower works very well and the provided fan moves the air to keep it reasonably cool.
The laundry there are 6 washing machines and work well, cost 2 Euro for a wash.

My 3 star review was heavily influenced by the heat wave that hit Vienna at the end of June. This hotel is excellent except the fact that it has no air conditioning!

Great location- literally next door to Vienna Hauptbahnhof. It would be nice to have a welcome pack of coffee, tea. & milk pods - but hey, all really good. Air con? Might need it in Vienna in Midsummer - but not need early June so didn’t miss. Would pay to consider though. I will definitely book again - bring my own coffee/ milk & stick to not July/ August
