Amazing place must stay
I am currently staying at Dover beach hotel . Love this place will definitely be back. The place is immaculate shout out to the cleaning staff . The reception staff just wooooooooo amazing , they go above and beyond to make sure one stay is the best ever . Also every other member of staff is friendly and helpful. The pool is great and you can use two different pools and it’s right on the beach perfect location!

The room was clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was nice, bed was very comfy, though the room was a little bit older. I had a king bed and a twin bed as well as microwave, sink, oven, fridge, toaster, etc... everything in working order. The water pressure in the shower was a bit low but we were on the top floor and it was sufficient.
If you hope to take the bus around the island, the closest stop is about a 7-minute walk from the hotel. (Each time you jump on the bus it is $3.50 BB) It's a 15-minute ride to Carlisle Bay, unless traffic is congested in the mornings. The taxi from the airport to the hotel was about $30 us.
The pool was clean and a nice quiet place to lay down in a sun chair. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the ocean, But we did our beach time over at Carlisle Bay.
Some people may feel a little uncomfortable walking through some of the neighborhoods that are nearby, but I tend to be a wanderer and probably walked through more of the areas than a typical tourist. When you're a tourist, it's always good to walk around with a friend anyway. Everyone was friendly.
Overall, this is not a four-star hotel. It really is a three-star hotel but the overall experience with the staff and the room amenities for the price gave this a four for me. And it worked great for me as a hub to jump on tours of the island etc. if I just wanted to hang out at the beach I would probably get a place closer to Carlisle Bay.

Good Friendly Hotel.
My husband and I used the Dover Beach Hotel for a one night stay both at the beginning and end of our island hopping trip to St Martin and Anguilla. We used Virgin and they fly into Barbados. We were looking for something that was not too expensive and in a good location to the airport and with a beachfront location.
The Dover Beach fitted the bill.
The hotel was really friendly ...the staff were really helpful and warm. Nothing was too much trouble
The rooms were big airy and spotless...very comfortable. The facilities at the hotel were just what we needed. Great bar and resturant. The beds were really comfortable
We had a great stay despite having limited time.
The beach views are lovely despite the sea being choppy.
A good cost effective solid choice.

Beach is off to the side of property. The water was very rough while I was there. Our room needs a new mattress, it was totally broke down with a heavy foam pad thrown on top. We were in a kitchenette with a coffee pot but no filters, no paper towel and no dish soap. Our room had the bed made and fresh towels every other day. No beach towels. Over all it was just ok. I would not return I’d fine a different place to stay.
