Magical! Talk about staying IN Bruges… The heart of the town in a modern property. If you can, book a room with a canal view!

Loved the bed and bedding and bathroom was very nice and clean, Location could have been better - up on a hillside not really close to anything pretty or nice, although a grocery store was close in walking distance. The hotel was under major renovation on the main floor, but they made the bar available to lounge in. Floors in the bedroom were the creakiest floors i've ever heard and made it difficult to sneak out to the bathroom at night. My biggest beef is tha that hotels.com says "24 hour airport concierge" and that is 100% false. There is no shuttle of any kind. I asked about it and the concierge told me "Yes, we can call a cab for you." That is b.s. very very deceiving and expensive. They didn't say "we'll look into why it says that" or do anything at all to acknowledge that misleading information. Breakfast was extremely basic. Nothing warm of any kind.

Negatives were the room with the beautiful canal view did not have AC. It was hot at night, so sleeping was miserable. Hotel was under renovation so it is getting a modern look, but you had to work around that a bit. It is a maze to get to your room and took us two days to finally figure it out. The reception desk is not 24 hours and sometimes we had to use "the night door" to get in/out. Elevator is tiny, only 2 large luggage and 1 human at a time. If you have mobility issues this hotel would be difficult. There were stairs to get to the elevator. The toilet room does not have its own sink and the shower does not have a way to keep the water in the tub so it went all over the floor. They only gave us 1 travel size shower gel so we went to a store to get soap.
Positives are the location is fantastic and the canal view room has an amazing view. Breakfast was nice, but not amazing.

Location, fantastic!

The location was really good. Right by the canals, close to Markt (!?, you know, the town’s square). Check-in was easy as usual. The room was on the street level. Very quiet, very DARK which i appreciate because I sleep poorly when the sun lurks through the window. The bathroom was ridicously large. TV, mini-fridge nothing special. I liked it.
What didn’t suit ME (might suit you) is the fact that the breakfest is available from 8am. I got up between 5-6 Local time so I had to kill a few hours before getting my stupid amount of caffeine. Of course, this didn’t ruin my holiday, why would it. It was actually quite amazing to walk in the centre of bruges basically by myself 6 in the morning. It was like the most beautiful ghosttown you’d imagine.

Construction sites should not be rented out

The hotel room on the 3rd. floor is surrounded by 2 major construction sites. The rooms next to us are being renovated and the floor above us as well. There is construction material everywhere, everything covered with plastic. It is an outrage to even rent out this site. Footage as proof of what goes on here every morning at 7:00 AM!!!
Our room does not even have space for our clothes, they stay in the suitcase, the reception referred us to our standard room and did not offer a quieter room. The windows can only be opened 20 cm, then you hit the retrofitted blinds. The noise from the cobblestone street comes from car races in the evening, and garbage trucks and deliveries in the morning around 6:00 AM.
The location is the only good thing!
