Best hotel in a long time

This is heaven on earth. Very quiet, great sleep quality, lovely large room, excellent restaurant, superb breakfast, exceptional ambience and surroundings. Staff are a match to all this. The only problem can be for handicapped people as distances between main building and accommodation are large with many steps here and there. Location is not far from the main Antwerp to Duesseldorf motorway.

Terrible choice.

Terrible impression. At the reception at 6:30 PM, there was a boy who only spoke Flamenco; there was no way to understand him. I speak German, Italian, and Romanian, but it was no use. The staff was rude; they gave us the room key, and we spent over 10 minutes trying to find it. It is located more than 150 meters from the reception in an old barn converted into a hotel. The mattress was very soft; it felt like sleeping on a giant sponge. It is LITERALLY in the middle of nowhere, meaning that if you don't have a car, you are in trouble. A terrible experience. I recommend thinking about it before going.

The location is very convenient close to the motorway and nothing to fault at the hotel and the rooms.
That said, I found it rather disappointing that a hotel/monastery carrying the name of a quite known beer doesn't even have a bar.

Not recommended

Staying here was a damper on a nice cycling holiday, this hotel is so outdated and unkempt, bathroom was just terrible to use, so dirty. See photos . I did not take a picture of the toilet was simply not appetizing, hung full of blue product and goo, did not even have a lid. Sheets not clean, no heating also in the bathroom, wet clothes after a bike ride could not be dried.
Bar was out of order. Only in bad weather is the chapter room available, but is full of annoying flies. Please don't let people stay here who want to enjoy a holiday with their hard-earned money until after a thorough renovation. This was a small 300€ lost for 1 night with 3 course dinner and breakfast for 2 people, we could spend much better. By the way, your gourmet dinner is not really gourmet dinner but rather a warmed-up meal. Waiter, very friendly man, was also a cook. He did his best. Breakfast was very moderate. Industrial sandwiches and some baked bread, not even white bread available.

Beautiful domain!

Beautiful domain, lots of greenery and forest, very neat garden. Priory ? Repair nicely done. Rooms are in need of some renovation. Restaurant, beautiful in the cellar. Dinner, very tasty! good chef! Service, friendly man. Breakfast, no one present. Quiet during the week!
