Great experience at Urban Gardens Ypres
We've just had 2 nights at Urban Gardens Ypres. The site and the facilities are spotless. The reception area (including one of the sanitary blocks) is being refurbed. The new toilet black was open, despite being unfinished, which was great as the site was fully booked. The pitches are on the small side, but we expected that from a small city- entre site.
It's a 10 minute walk, through a wood and along the moat, to the Menin Gate. The location couldn't be better! There's a lovely park 5 minutes away, which my daughter loved.

Urban Gardens Ypres great location
Great location to visit various World War one sites 20 minutes walk to Ypres.
Sadly the site is currently under some refurbishment poor facilities on offer at present.
We were allocated a pitch on the hard standing 170 euros for 5 nights in asdas car park .... rammed in definitely a fire risk as 1.5 metres from next motorhome.
Reception where very unhelpful in moving to a grass pitch claiming they were fully booked.
Then their was the rats making a star appearance.!!!
All in all pulled off after 3 nights if I go back next year get a grass pitch A1 - 16 is a must.

Nothing like the advert.
Upgrade work is being done which currently means 2 showers per sex for the whole site. Just one poo cubicle. Sink outside the facilities don’t work. Security at the barrier non existent, was supposed to be number plate recognition but was always up. Couldn’t walk through the park as more work was being done so had to walk the long way to the Menin Gate, 35 mins on a main road.
There is a factory near which operates all night.
Worst thing is we were stuffed on a hard standing pitch which was ok for 2 but they squeezed 3 vans in. The guy next to me was 1.5 metres away. Shocking!!
Some of the grass pitches were slightly better and nearer the toilets but was either luck of the draw where you are put or judging by the amount of UK numberplates in the sh1tsville lineup where we were….your guess is as good as mine.
We booked 2 nights but left after 1. Says it all.

Great site
Great place to stay in a large motorhome for a week for Ypres Rally. Very easy to book and even though we arrived out of hours we received all the information we required in an email and text message. Four motorhomes were sited together as requested which was very appreciated.
Facilities are basic but good enough and the showers were hot. New reception being built and I am sure this will be an added bonus when it is finished. Short walk into town and the Menin Gate. Aldi located just up the road and a laundrette for those who wish to do their washing. Lovely cool dog walks around the site, clean and tidy.
Agreed there can be a low hum from the local factory but to be honest it didnt bother us at all.
As for the moans around not a lot of room for motorhomes, the spaces as you come into the site are for overnighters only so literally park up, sleep and go again the next day. For those staying for longer the pitches are perfect and large enough for an awning too.
Couldnt fault our stay and will be back again next year.

Enjoyable stay in Ieper
Well located for the centre of Ieper and private sanitary facilities were excellent. It will be good when new reception is completed. Only criticism was of the constant noise from a local industrial plant.
