VERY GOOD, BUT IT COULD BE SPECTACULAR.
This is our second visit to Pousada Daleste. On the first stay we stayed 4 days, enough for a good impression. This time, with 7 days, we had the opportunity to get to know the place better — and that was when some important points came to light.
As a travel agent, accustomed to assessing structures with a technical look, I see here an establishment with enormous potential yet unexplored.
Positive points: The beach is simply excellent — undoubtedly the big differential of the guesthouse. The environment is beautiful and the privileged location is a gift. The breakfast is excellent and the food is delicious. And a special praise deserves to be made: the staff of the restaurant and the cleaning is grade 10 — always ready to help, welcoming and attentive. They are people who make a difference and deserve recognition. The human structure is there, which is an excellent sign.
What needs to be improved:
The problem with gastronomy is not the quality, but the variety. For longer stays, the menu quickly runs out and becomes repetitive. Essential options such as filé mignon, picanha, salmon, shrimp, more variety in meats and snacks are missing. Even in the pizza menu there are basic gaps — there is no chicken pizza, for example. Coconut water is also an unexplained absence in a beachfront guesthouse. We also had the discomfort of finding a hair in the pizza — something that seriously compromises confidence in the kitchen.
The service at the restaurant needs more agility and organization — the delay was recurrent during the stay. It is worth noting that the guesthouse does not yet offer beach service, which would be a huge difference and would surely add a lot of value to the guest experience. Combined with sun chairs, it would completely transform the beachfront environment.
The cleaning and preservation of the strawberries also attracted negative attention: the towels were covered, which does not match a quality accommodation and conveys a feeling of carelessness with the guest.
The gaming room needs urgent attention in several respects: there are infiltrations in the walls, including hitting the lamps — which poses a real security risk. The windows are with accumulated dirt, the pebolim table has a broken foot, the swing table is with the nets torn making the balls fall to the ground, and the staircase lock doesn't work. It is a space with potential for leisure that today conveys abandonment and carelessness.
Lack of connection with the guest: Maybe the point that surprised us most negatively was the check-out. After seven days of staying, we left without receiving a simple “how was the stay?” or a “until next time.” This minimal gesture of attention makes all the difference in customer loyalty — and its absence says a lot about the lack of hospitality culture that needs to be developed in management.
Final consideration: What I miss here is a more present and active management — a management that structures the team, sets standards of service, takes care of the details and expands the menu to the height of the potential of the place. People are there, the beach is stunning, the food is good — just missing direction. The guesthouse has everything to become a reference in the region, and we just came back because we believed in it. I hope these observations are received as they are: a genuine incentive to grow.
