Great little hotel in Belem

Great location, friendly staff and really pleasant surrounding- Simple, hospitable and safe, we all felt at home here throughout our stay. I would recommend it for anyone who wants a change from the usual corporate, uniform surroundings found in hotels the world over.
The staff, and the manager did all they could to make us welcome. We enjoyed the little pool, great breakfasts and really convenient location.
I would definitely stay there on a future occasion.

Quaint

This hotel is very small and rustic. The staff is very friendly but no English speaking employee. Be sure to have a translator app on your phone or iPad. One of the staff even used his laptop when my phone wasn't connecting to the internet. The hotel has a green space by a pool. The rooms are small but clean. The air conditioner and hot water worked in my room. But use bottled water for drinking. The hotel is close to several restuarants and shops. It is very safe around the hotel as it is a very busy street and several schools in the area. The one thing I missed was having a safe in the room for my laptop. A taxi is always available at the front.

Well located, clean and simple

Stayed here for the month of January 2014. It is very basic, simple and clean in a safe location in Belem with friendly, helpful staff. Breakfasts were pleasant with the dining area overlooking the pool which although small was a big plus in the considerable heat.
All of the facilities in my room worked - apart from the overhead fan. I appreciated having a window overlooking the patio area. I would certainly return.

Stay away

ENGLISH
They gave us a room with:
- separate beds (we had made our booking 2 months ahead)
- a leak on the roof over the bed (mind you, it rains every single day in Belem)
- a bathroom that stunk beyond belief
- a shower that we could not adjust the temperature (either it chilled or it burned)
We asked them to change and all they offered us was a room with window facing a wall, i.e. a dungeon.
PORTUGUESE
Eles nos deram um quarto com:
- camas separadas (tínhamos feito a reserva com 2 meses de antecedência)
- uma goteira sobre a cama (detalhe: em Belém chove todos os dias)
- um banheiro que fedia mais que de rodoviária
- um chuveiro que não ajustava a temperatura: pelava ou congelava.

Very basic but in a good localization

this is a very simple (almost poor) hotel with a friendly staff and in a excelent localization.Breakfast is fair and in a nice place.At the front desk you will find a vending machine with beer,water etc...The room has little natural light and shower hadn't hot water which is not a problem because Belem is really too hot.
