Comfortable hotel The pool, sauna and jacuzzi are nice to have

I used it for the night before departure from the airport. The building itself looked old, but it had been renovated and didn't feel old. We also had a shuttle bus to the airport at 5am in the morning. The hotel had a swimming pool, sauna and Jacuzzi. It was after the hike, so those facilities were very pleasant. The pool water was cloudy, but probably due to the calcium-rich water quality. If you don't know it well, you might think it's dirty, so you might want to have some descriptive text. Because of the turbidity, I couldn't see well when swimming and my hands hit the wall. You might want to have some markings at the bottom of the pool. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. microwave, refrigerator and bottled water.

Don’t expect to use the airport shuttle

The hotel was clean and the room spacious. The staff at the hotel were very friendly. The restaurant was also good. I rated this 3 stars though because we specifically booked this place for the hotel shuttle. We went to the shuttle location and waited about ten minutes. Then watched the shuttle drive by in the far left lane and not even bother to slow down or stop. We called the hotel and they contacted the shuttle driver and said he already left the airport and it would be at least 45 minutes for him to come back. They had no explanation for why he wouldn’t even stop. We ended up paying $30 to take an uber because we didn’t trust that if we waited he would at least stop. To their credit, the front desk person was incredibly apologetic and couldn’t explain why he wouldn’t stop.
Just to be sure we didn’t do anything wrong, we checked the Marriott app and saw no mention of special shuttle instructions such as pre-booking (which we also did before we landed) and once we got to our room we saw shuttle instructions IN the card given to us with our keys. The shuttle apparently comes every hour on the hour and we needed to pre-book it. Would have been nice to have this info.

It was great! It was clean and nice. Staff were friendly. Amenities were good. Airport shuttle is a real plus. Underground parking was available.

The underground parking was very convenient, but the pavement was filthy. I suspect that it was that way from the winter road pavement spread. I hated to track that upstairs to our room.

Comfortable, but see advice

The hotel was comfortable, but I was surprised that despite having ‘Airport’ in its name, it is around 5 miles (8 km) from Calgary Airport. It took about 10–15 minutes by taxi. Only taxis are sedans that charge 66 Canadian dollars for the trip, not a pleasant experience on arrival into Canada. Future guests should be aware that it is not located at or adjacent to the airport.
We would have ordered the hotel’s complimentary shuttle had we known. Call them on arrival at the airport.
Also they take 100 dollars from your credit card, not a pre-authorisation to cover expenses in hotel, just not what we are used to in Europe.

Our hotel is located approximately 8 km (5 miles) from Calgary International Airport, and while we are not directly on airport grounds, we do offer a complimentary airport shuttle for our guests. We encourage guests to contact us upon arrival so we can arrange a prompt pickup.
Regarding the security deposit, we understand that hotel policies can vary from country to country. The deposit collected at check-in is a refundable security deposit to cover any incidental charges during a guest's stay. If no incidental charges are incurred, the full amount is released back to the original payment method in accordance with the card issuer's processing times.
