This hotel is for families with kids.
I thought would be a good idea to go with my husband, but I wouldn't go back as a couple again.
Totally recommend with younger kids.
lots of activities for kids and kids running around. There is a strong smell, maybe because the kids poll may have more chemicals and the kids going wet on the carpet
Our room was really small, hard to move around with luggage. The shower was very low pressure, could be better.
The location was good, easy to go to the old town.

Great hotel and amenities. We requested early check in and were able to access our room just after 12. The restaurant food was good and the pool area was fantastic. Pool had entertainment and a tiki bar. Rooms were spacious and clean, we had an outdoor patio with two chairs which was great to enjoy in the evening when we were back at our hotel after exploring Old Quebec. Old Quebec was a short less then 20 minute drive. Had a great stay and will return.

What an amazing place for kids! From the amenities to the daily arts and crafts and magic show, my kids didn’t want to leave the hotel at all. It’s an older hotel, but the rooms are updated and clean and the facilities are well maintained.

Needs better trained staff, renos, and safety

This hotel is in the process of doing some much needed Renos and I would hope that by the time they are done the place gets their stuff in order but for now it’s a rounded up to 2 on 5 at best. For the nearly 300$ a night with taxes we paid I think we got played and taken as shmuks.
Pros: variety of activities for smaller children- face painting (if you are prepared to wait an hour in line as they have two people for the entire kids present ) magic shows, ping pong tables, bouncy castles outside and even one inside, pool, slides - not water slides but high slides, make up up and nail salon, drawing and arts and crafts and some dressed up characters.
Cons: pool grounds very dangerous when walking around it to get to the bouncy castles outside or to the slides and its incredibly slippery at all hours. In the evening the pathway is very dimly lit you must be very careful or run the risk of slipping. Also while ventilated the pool area is very strongly smelling of chlorine. I get salt water pools or more expensive but it was irritating both parents and kids eyes. Pool is also way too small to accommodate all guests. At all hours of the day pool is jammed with little room and free spots, other than perhaps the last hour before closing but then the side bar serving both nonand alcoholic slushies closed as does the music… kind of a let down here. Bouncy castle are outdoors was constantly wet despite not having rained for nearly a week. No supervision here parents please be vigilant and it’s too easy for kids to wander off into an open parking lot which during our time there was also used as a detour route given the construction so we have both construction vehicles and oncoming traffic right by the bouncy castles so we always had to be on our guard. A little unsettling and not a way to have parents relax. Rooms while clean felt very dated. Stains on sheets, floorboard damaged and bathroom tiles starting to have some mould spots. Very low shower pressure , two of the lighs in the room were burnt, we advised front desk and nothing was ever done about it. No way to seemingly turn any bathroom fan on it seemed random and definitely not humid sensing as we literally had water droplets on the ceiling and still the fan would go on. despite ac always on room was always very humid. They try to make it feel resort like in that yes there are onsite activities ofr little kids and While yes you get a bracelet there is no all inclusive option here. breakfast for 2 adults and 2 children would have cost us 100$cad which is awfully expensive. First day there pool was closed for maintenance and we were advised that since we have the bracelet we can go to any jaro hotel in Québec and use their pool as well. Ok so since our rooms weren’t ready either we took a drive (note : lots of construction going on even on surrounding roads) to the plaza jaro which looked lovely in pics as it has a similar style though with large Roman coliseum style pillars but when we got there we were told no such perk exists and while they tried to figure out among staff why we were told an incorrect message and they couldn’t reach anyone back at hotel Quebec to validate- kids and i were very disappointed- wasted both time and gas $. When we got back to hotel another front desk staff member claimed the info I was told only applies if they call the other jaro property first to advise…. Seems might odd and not professional.
Arcade room is not included with your hotel stay and you have to buy tokens - the vending machines next to it must have candy in them from 20 years ago as both kids had different varieties that were stale and rancid. Rooms not at all sound proof and even the door to the hallway isn’t insulated at all - in fact we could see light passing on the bottom and side to the point we had to put towels on the floor at night to block the light. For the $ we paid I don’t feel this gave us much value . Quebec City is very picturesque and lovely outside of this specific hotel filled with massive construction- we were literally in the middle of the ‘chantier’ it felt and with dumpster trucks starting to work at 7am waking us up made it all the more frustrating . Even outside noise isolation was poor (balcony room facing bouncy castles) it wasn’t the Quebec City hotel experience we thought we’d be getting with JARO. Wife asked about a discount booklet or site we heard about when booking g over the phone with a jaro agent and we were given the deer stuck in headlights moment from staff - nobody had a clue. We on our last day found a sticker next to one of the elevators with a QR code and we could go on a site to check discounts - this unfortunately towards the end of our trip after paying full price for some of the activities we could have saved $ on. Given the hotel condition and Reno’s going on and still needed, poorly trained staff, and surrounding area construction site situation I feel they should have giving the rooms at half of what they are charging but hey week or two before kids back at school they try to get every dollar possible which is disappointing. Won’t be back any time soon to this hotel, but will definitely come back to Quebec City and there is much history and culture

Seems like an all inclusive resort

We stayed at L’Hotel Quebec the night before our cruise. The hotel features a breakfast and/or evening buffet for its guests, an indoor pool and hot tub in a tropical garden setting, with a waterfall, a sauna, a fish pond, and an indoor playground. There is paid highspeed internet in the guest rooms, an arcade room, a fitness center, paid EV stations, a coin-op guest laundry and free guest parking. Inside, there are several meeting rooms, an ATM, and vending machines for food and soft drinks on different floors. On certain dates various musical entertainment is live in the Tropical Garden.
We enjoyed our stay and found the guest room comfortable and clean.
In the morning, we had breakfast in the Le 10Vagues Resto-Bar across from the lobby. Meals are not included with one’s stay.
