One Night in a Remarkable Mansion with Quality Welcoming

The gite les 2 sisters is a magnificent historic house that served as a rectory for several decades. Located by Lake Saint Jean, our room had a spendid view of the lake. The decoration was old but not in the wrong sense of the word. Martine who welcomed us was charming (even more than the Quebecers already are) she gave us good advice for a restaurant located 700 m away and served us a very good breakfast. Only regret, not staying another night.

Go your way... don't book

It was sold to us for a beautiful home and we slept in a converted garage with still the two garage doors without curtains inside...and the garage engine above the bed in the bedroom.
Toilet linen with holes and fraying.

Calm and serenity, and yet so close to the center.

What could be better than this old presbytery, barely modified to accommodate us, this place is enchanting.
When we have the chance to have breakfast on the terrace, the Isle of the Snake just to the right, the lake in all its splendor, we forget where we are, we connect directly to nature, peacefully.

Friendly stop on our cycling trip

Our stop after 2 days cycling around Lac St Jean. Friendly greeting, but helpful that we did have someone who spoke French. Good indoor bike storage with good floor pump to inflate tires. Nicely appointed rooms, lots of hot water. Common room with TV, coffee maker, microwave and fridge. They allowed us use of a vehicle to make a grocery/beer run which was greatly appreciated.
Right on the lake. Nice water views and the sound of crashing waves to sleep with.
Great breakfast with excellent coffee, yogurt, eggs in a bacon cup and s nice selection of fruit. Good way to start another day of cycling.
No hesitation in recommending it to cyclists or any travelers .

Beautiful building, service not so much

If you are used to having an ensuite shower as part of your B&B booking, make sure to explicitly request this in advance -- I was surprised to find that I would be sharing a bathroom down the hall (and it didn't have a shower, only a claw-foot bathtub). Not ideal when coming in from a wet and muddy day of cycling. The building is super clean, but rather low on towels, toillette paper. No air con. Very weak Wifi signal. Wonderful terrace with lake view from which to enjoy breakfast in the morning. Breakfast was hyped up by the cycle-tour organizer as the best on the route, however, it was rather average.
