Getaway

Front desk gentleman was polite and gave us info on pool, hot tub, and where to make a picnic which we enjoyed, especially the 104F hot tub. The room was very clean and well priced. The next morning, the front desk lady was very sweet and helpful and gave us a choice of full hot at $13 or continental breakfast at $9. We chose the continental which came with cereals, and she served us toast, hot boiled egg, bowl of fruit, yogurt, coffee, and even made us fresh chocolate chip cookies for us. We will definitely stay again!

Dump

What a grungy dump! Save your money for another place. Everything was filthy including blood on the bed comforter. Bathroom was gross. No beverages in vending machine. Disgrace.

The room was ok, everything was dated and needed an influx of investment. The towels especially were thread bare and unraveling. Too small for a 6'4" man or woman.
The $14 breakfast was terrible.
The outside also needs fixing up. The grounds toward the river were good. Nice view from the room but not really that close as described.
Buyer beware.

Unsafe and unhealthy

Subfloor in the bathroom is rotten resulting in cracked tiles, to the point of no grout left! Black mould in and around the toilet. Can’t possibly have been cleaned this entire summer.
The dishes had mouse poop in them.
The deck is rotten and soft underfoot and the wooden chairs disintegrated when we sat down.
The canine have the potential to be cute but I don’t think a dime has been spent in 20 years to maintain or upgrade this place.

Nice location near all of Cavendish offerings. Beautiful property. No elevator and didn’t realize this at time of booking - would recommend booking the bungalows as these looked like great access for families and closer to pool (pool was far away from main lodge).
