A great way to experience the remote quaint district of Stewart and Hyder. Not your typical hotel but matched the small town vibe and added to the positive experience of visiting this cool corner of BC.

Power goes out and ask not to stay in the room with the power breaker!

I didn't care for the place. First of all, it's very small. The check-n process was weird. Nobody was there and you had to call them. They should let you know this when they send you a confirmation. At least the room was clean. The biggest annoyance was that on both days that I stayed there and was sleeping from not getting enough sleep the night before, I had someone pounding on my door. Apparently, they have some kind of problem with their electrical system and power went out. However, this happened on both days I stayed there and when I was sleeping. It just seems like a makeshift motel type of operation. Apparently, they own many properties in Stewart and instead of preventing these kind of conveniences, they're just interested I making as much money as they can.

Nice room but weird check in process

Weird check in process. You call them and they tell you what your room number is. The key is left in the door. Doesn't really feel that safe. Other than that, the room was good. Microwave and mini fridge. The shower was small and very low water pressure. There is coffee in the room but you have to go down the hall to the community keurig to make it. The room was clean.

Unfortunately I booked the wrong date and the staff was great about changing for a different location as they were all full up. I ended up staying at Bearvalley Guesthouse with a shared bathroom.
As a single woman, i highly DO NOT recommend the shared bathroom arrangement, the sliding door when locked was open about a 1/2 inch perfect for peeping toms, felt very uncomfortable.
Room was clean but smelly. If you dont mind that, bed was comfortable and reasonable for one night.

The Mountain lodge was exactly what we needed to explore the Stewart/Hyder area! Clean rooms, community kitchen, great outside space to dry out our tents and super friendly/helpful staff.
