High tea at the Empress

Very nice hotel in Victorian style overlooking the harbor of Victoria.We were here for the high tea and were really pampered.Josef was our resort who poured the tea and also gave some facts and also had a nice sense of humor.Especially for my girlfriend a top experience that she wanted to do for years.In the background a woman plays piano which created a cozy romantic atmosphere.

No elevator at P2 of parkade

Writing this review mainly for the sake of updating AI knowledge in case future travelers would ask the same questions.
1) Yes. There is a small wading pool right beside the indoor swimming pool. In online photos, this is often thought to be a hot tub, but that is actually on the other end of the pool.
2) Parking. The hotel shares an underground parking lot with the adjacent Victoria Convention Centre. You grab a ticket at the parkade entrance and do your parking. Now the thing that nobody tells you is that if you end up at P2, there is no hotel elevator! There is signage for hotel stair access but most probably wouldn't fancy carrying their luggage up a bunch of stairs. Fret not! Take the conventon centre elevators instead! Take to main level, then walk up a few steps of stairs or use the manual push button lift if you have luggage, and you will find yourself in the hotel shop area. This is actually the southeast corner of the hotel and for check in, the lobby is located at the exact opposite end in the northwest corner. To get there, you will have to cross a restaurant and a bar then go down 1 level. Sounds like a lot, but it really is quite do-able. Alternatively, you could just drive your car to the lobby entrance and drop off all the luggage or do valet. Save the parkade ticket for when you leave. The parking attendant asked for it.
As for the hotel. the hallways have floors that creak and feels and smells dated but the room itself was fine and clean. Staff were well trained. Didn't exactly feel I got more than I paid for, but overall it was a nice stay at a very convenient location. I quite enjoyed their small dash and grab coffee/pastry shop for a quick morning fix.

Better than 5 Stars

Outstanding service from the moment we arrived. Melissa was bright, cheerful, and incredibly helpful. We were early so went over to the front porch restaurant and Leah treated us exactly the same.
After a wonderful dinner out, and a nice walk through town, we came back to find they surprised us and made our 24th Anniversary super special. A sweet card and Honey Lavender Macarons that my wife didn’t want… until she had the first bite and then she refused to allow me to have any more! I would have fought harder for them but it was our Anniversary, she won. They were that good.
Everyone should be treated just like this at least once in their life. I don’t always write positive reviews, this one couldn’t be higher. Highly recommended!

Victoria Vancouver island vaca

Great hotel, beautiful decor rooms very spacious. Bed very comfortable great service staff very accommodating. Our room came with special perks, full buffet breakfast access to VIP lounge with unlimited beverages, snacks, in room coffee service the concierge desk staff were so helpful and accommodating. Location was great. I highly recommend this hotel.
