Old City Charm in Chengdu
This is a charmingly styled hotel in the district of the Wenshu Yuan Monastery. The staff were super helpful, especially in respect of storing our daughter's bicycle. The bedrooms are organised around a central courtyard and have balconies overlooking the street. They are fully air-conditioned, unlike the breakfast room which was quite warm. However, it was possible to take breakfast plates and eat in the courtyard if a table was available. The breakfast itself was buffet style and a little choice limited but plenty of good coffee. There is an excellent bakery a 5 minute walk from the hotel to supplement if needed. The hotel could perhaps benefit from a lick of paint in places but our room was spotlessly clean and the bed very comfortable. The en-suite bathroom is on the smaller side, unlike some of the more corporate city hotels but perfectly serviceable and pretty! We would always choose the charm of a hotel like the Buddha Zen over a larger more souless city centre hotel.

We loved our stay at the Buddhazen hotel. It is situated in a charming square set away from the street and hence very quiet. There were many restaurants and shops around. It was easy to walk everywhere including kuanzhai Alley and renmin park. Our room was fantastic. It had a sitting area, a separate bedroom space as well as a balcony. Hotel staff were very kind and helpful. B’fast was very good. The downstairs sitting area is also beautifully appointed

I had a great experience in this hotel! The decoration and the architecture of the building is great! The atmosphere is relaxing and you feel like in a movie.
The buffet breakfast was great! They offer variety of Chinese dishes, veggies, noodles, buns, many options to try Chinese food. They also have western options, so you can grab a coffee, toasted bread, milk, cakes and fruits. Definitely you will find something you like here. Personally, I loved trying Chinese dishes every day, there were always something new to try (I spent 5 nights there).
My room was always clean, with service every day and also they provide a delicious tea (2 varieties) 💕
I have to mention that the staff was very friendly with me, I don’t speak Chinese, but they speak English so thanks to them we could communicate perfectly. The receptionist helped me to survive in China as none of my apps worked there.
The location of the hotel was great! I think I picked the best area, you feel like in a movie or anime, all the streets around are beautiful and very Chinese (I say people I stayed in chinatown of Chengdu lol). I loved so much, even walking around the corner it was an experience. The monastery is very close (maybe 2 minutes walking slowly). All the shops and restaurants look traditional. The food around is great, cheap and delicious. Also there are many coffee shops and tea shops.
I recommend this hotel 100%. Clean room, friendly staff, delicious breakfast and many shops nearby.

Charming Hotel
A beautiful boutique hotel located in the old bobo district of Chengdu with lots of cute little restaurants and lounges of the , close to a monastery. A nice welcome , a nice patio and a large bedroom with 2 beds of 130 comfortable and a very decent shower room. Kettle, tea and coffee, bathrobes and slippers, everything is perfect. The only small downside is that it is a little cold in the shower room.
Breakfast is decent with a small lack of choice and fruit.
