I don’t think anyone should make a first trip to Shanghai without spending a few days up high in the Grand Hyatt. What a view and the staff were helpful and supportive. Our only poor experience was a room service delivery served open (not under a cover) for which the hotel apologized and waved the charge. Other than that we got an early check-in and for a very small extra got a room with a simply jaw dropping river view. One piece of advice. If you want the extravagant breakfast be sure to book by the night before to enjoy a major discount in the charge.

The views are endless

The views in the lobby are breathtaking on the 54th floor, with ground to ceiling windows. I stayed in a suite on the 85th floor with beautiful views of the Oriental Pearl Tower and river. The living room was comfortable with a couch and chair, plus a settee off in a nook for getting cozy on. If you have access to the lounge, the evening cocktail food had a great variety and was plentiful. The hotel's location is great for walking to the park and on the pedestrian bridge to the Mall for shopping. Easy Didi ride to Disneyland.

Great hotel at a signature location in Shanghai

A signature location in Shanghai with restaurants(a few open to 10pm, great for late arrival) and two 7/11(one open to 9pm another open to 10pm) in the same building(underground). There are so many shopping malls nearby. 7 to 8 mins walk to subway station. Great hospitality from the executive lounge.

Probably used to be a great hotel but not so much anymore. Check in / check out had constant queues. Slow staff on the desk. Room wasn’t ready for check in time. Room was clean but outdated.
Great views of the city. Good access to metro and nearby locations via the underground walkways.

Service is bad . Food is bad(not fresh). Smell mold in the room of hotel. Mattress is smell. Blanket is smell. Sucks

这个酒店很糟糕， this hotel is sucks! 房间发霉，潮湿，床垫发臭，被子发臭，枕头有味道，早餐食物不新鲜，服务人员不礼貌，跟人讲话眼睛都是看天花板，唯独一位前台外国女性工作人员和人交流彬彬有礼！

The issues you raised — musty odors in the room, unpleasant smells from the mattress, blankets, and pillows, and concerns about food freshness at breakfast — are completely unacceptable for a five-star hotel. Your comments have been escalated to our Housekeeping, Engineering, and Food & Beverage teams for immediate investigation, deep cleaning, and a thorough review of our linen and hygiene standards.
We also regret that some of our staff were impolite during your stay. While we are glad our foreign female front desk colleague provided the courteous service you deserved, this is the standard we expect from every team member. A comprehensive service training program has been initiated to address this.
