Good location but needs a refurbishment

Good location and on top of a subway station connecting you to the entire city. The hotel needs a refurbishment urgently. Nothing shines, everything is old and wear and tear everywhere. Carpet in the room is old and dirty. Facilities and restaurant are heavily outdated and expired.
Service works smooth and people are friendly. But if the hotel does not invest in upkeeping and maintenance, it’s not worth the Westin brand name.

Mismanaged hotel under the Marriott brand. The hotel is a complete mess

Staff were helpful and friendly. Location is convenient. But some areas need improvement. Although I asked for a non smoking room, the whole corridor smelt of smoke and so did the room. I was also a little disappointed that my request for high floor with a view was not met. In terms of the common facilities, the toilet on ground floor smelt like a public toilet even though key access was required. There was also no one to help open the door when you have luggages to carry as you enter the lobby.

I had better experience in 4-star hotels than my stay here which felt like gone into a day-care center.

Housekeeping is a bit weird. Its like they don't have a system, often got 2nd housekeeping showing up and look surprised that room is already done.
And in one day, after housekeeping already done in the afternoon. I went out for dinner and come back with the room done again, but with a weird setup. My flippers were relocated and placed next to the bed. on the bed, one of the pillow was placed on the fixture behind the bed and a little clipped folding of the sheet. Felt weird.
Both the shower head and rainforest shower on ceiling are both worn. water stream shooting at different angles, even out of the shower area. shower door won't shut. water will spill over to washroom floor. the bath tub also poorly designed, looks good but not functional. can only put in limited water to avoid spill over, but that level won't allow full submerge. movement or standing up will also cause water level to spill over.
Worst is the lounge. It's a complete disaster. Kids running around, yelling, some even shoeless. Elderly sleeping on the sofa. The place felt like a community center rather than an exclusive lounge. Felt like everyone can walk in without limitation. People have no concept of lining up or waiting for your turn. Felt like a getaway weekend became a day care center visit.
I had better experience in 4-star hotels than this.
