We booked two great little rooms here on the main floor. One of them was GORGEOUS and had a little balcony that you could sit in the sun in the morning. The other room was clean and tidy but more basic. The owner was so nice. He answered all my questions on WeChat, waited up for us in the evening to let us in and helped store our bags the next morning when we went for a walk.
**NOTE: to enter the old town you will need to pay 100 rmb per person if entering before 5:00 PM. If you plan on staying here keep this in mind. If you’re wanting to explore the city that day then great! You can walk around and see the attractions. Otherwise, wait until after 5:00 PM to check in.

I found hair all around the room!
The owners didn't speak any English which isn't a problem. What annoyed me is that they were speaking loudly in the lobby (which is just adjacent to the ground floor rooms) and they didn't understand it when I asked them if it was possible to keep it a little bit quieter.
They forgot to mention me that they lock the entrance door late in the evening and they locked me out! I had to call them on my mobile which was a bad experience.

A wonderfully quiet and peaceful place, in the heart of a splendid city.Host was always available and friendly and restaurants around are delicious. Don't hesitate.

Because taxi can not go into the Tongli ancient town, so we have to walk and carry baggage. But the hotel is good, the boss very nice!

Friendly owner and nice place. It's a little far from the tram stop but super close to 退思园 - and the town is really small anyway! Would recommend to other solo travellers for a night's stay.
