Nice hotel but hold old for a non-smoking room

Rooms were clean and comfortable BUT many smelled horribly of smoke. The first room we were given smelled terrible. They very nicely brought us to other rooms and we had to check 4 or 5 before we found one that didn't smell. Yes, a lot of people in China smoke, But in our 3 week tour this was the only hotel where we had this problem. Otherwise the hotel was very nice: helpful staff, grand lobby, great breakfast. Location is nothing special: too far from the old city to walk easily, not much to see or do in the area near the hotel.

The service from Zhao, Kai, and Ying is super good, the hotel facilities are good, the bedding is very comfortable, the hotel is very close to the attractions, and the subway and bus are very convenient. The service is very heartwarming.

Spacious room. Shower has good water pressure as well as a clothes drying line. Big bathtub. Being one block from the subway allows for easy access to most tourist attractions, such as the City Wall, Giant Pagoda, and TangParadise. Lap pool and gym equipment were disappointing. However, the breakfast and its staff exceeded expectations! Concierge was very helpful.
