Perfect pool, lovely stay

We were looking for a luxury hotel with a dramatic view and found Sugar House to be the best fit.
I was pleasantly surprised that every room has a balcony – something the website doesn’t really highlight. The food was excellent, and the rooms were very clean and exactly as advertised.
Most of the staff spoke only limited English, and the gym was very small. Those details aside, we had a wonderful stay.

Top location.

An excellent hotel and the staff are top-notch. The furnishings of the rooms are great. The location of the pool and the size of the pool are perfect. The bar as well as the restaurant are very good and delicious.

A great hotel and a disaster averted.....

This is a quirky hotel just outside Yangshuo. Yangshuo is a town with a great vibe - busy and bustling in the evenings with lots of great shops selling everything you might expect: souvenirs, many types of food, clothes etc. The centre is a 10 minute taxi away and taxis are very easy.
The Sugar House hotel is a converted sugar factory which retains a lot of the character of the old industrial complex, but now offers first-rate luxury accommodation. Room, building, service, food all excellent, but what set this place apart for me was the service.
This is unusual, but bear with me: I had lost some important medicine at our last hotel (due to incompetence!). I was in Yangshuo and needed to find it, pay for it and have it delivered quickly..... in Chinese.....
I was not optimistic. But luckily, Reception had the wonderful Tina. Tina took over. She found the Chinese equivalent of my drugs, found where they were available (and this took some time), arranged for them to be delivered, and then handled all the technology to enable me to pay for them immediately. If there is an employee of the year it should go to the amazing Tina. Thank you Tina and thank you Sugar House - it was GREAT.

Photographer's paradise! Looks like a movie set! Definitely make sure there are no events there during your dates as o you can enjoy this incredible place!!

Unbeatable location with incredible views. A quick taxi ride to West Street but lovely and tranquil away from the hubbub. A beautiful and interesting and very well designed property. The staff were all warm and friendly and welcoming. Excellent high quality breakfast in a beautiful setting. I definitely recommend this hotel as the place to stay in Yangshuo, especially if you prefer to share a space with like-minded independent travelers.
