Nice family-run hostel with great location
The room was nice and clean with hot water. The surroundings are beautiful and there is a great view!
The only downside is that the windows aren't isolated so you can hear a noise from the people outside (usually only in the morning). Also our room had water only in specific hours but this was due to the current strong El niño which is causing an extreme dry season in salento.

Quiet, relaxing and budget, great value for money in Salento
We stayed 4 nights in a double room with private bathroom for total 40.000 peso per night. It was the best value for money in the neighborhood.
ROOM: The room was decent size, clean, quite chilly but after using the hot shower the temperature got more pleasant in the entire room :), tv in the room but only one blured channel available. There is NO wifi in the entire hostel. The bathroom was small but functional, one of the best showers I had in SA, great pressure and super hot water (you need to run water sometimes for 2 mins at the beginning to get it hot but that's not a problem), it was so nice that I had a problem to limit my shower to 10 mins. Towels, soap provided. The room does not have glass windows but only metal bars and wooden 'curtains' covers so if you need a privacy during a day you need to use artificial light. The bed was super hard but somehow it did not affect the quality of my sleep. The place overall is very quiet so I slept very well. Extra blankets provided.
SERVICE: I was greeted by absolutely super friendly and welcoming Louis (who by the way speaks very good English). He prepared us a coffee, adviced on very good local eateries and walking trails, he was smiling every single day, ready for assistance and making sure we are happy. We also met the owner - older lady who was also very welcoming and very nice to us all the time.
LOCATION: It's center location (Salento is quite small), with main plaza and all the small shops 1 street away. Supermarket at the plaza, recommended restaurant Donde Papuchi just off the plaza (nice breakfast for 6.000, dinner 6.500). Buses to Armenia and Pereira and public shared jeeps just at the plaza, coffee plantations which you can visit (in English and Spanish) 1.5-2hrs walk away. The timetable for jeeps and the prices are displayed so you don't have to argue ;) 3.400 one way to the starting point for palms trek (once the jeep is full). Salento, although very touristy and popular with local tourists especially at the weekend is very pleasant and relaxing mountain village with thousands of souvenirs. I would recommend Sundays here as the place becomes more vivid than during the week.
OVERALL: I found the hostel the best value for money, for this price you can find very basic room with shared bathroom in other places like for example Tralala. I would recommend the place and I would definitely stay there again.
