Delightful hospitality, and cheap

My girlfriend and I stayed for four nights here. The lady was very courteous with us and carefully explained all the activities we could make not only in Sta Cruz but also in Galapagos in general. I'm very grateful for the family's hospitality. I would definitely stay again in here

Disappointed

We went there after booking online, this hostel had some of the best review in the island for the price.
The room was good, with a small kitchen, very convenient, and also very quiet.
We are really surprise to read so much good comments about the host, with us they were cold, not helpful and we had the felling to annoy them.
We thought we could ask them tips about what to do in Ayora, nice walk or nice beach, but most of the time we could see anybody in the hostel.
After such a long travel and so much money spend to come in the Galapagos, we expect at least a smile and a « welcome ».
Also the location isn’t great, quite far from the center, and uphill.
To conclude, the room was clean and good, but the host weren’t as friendly as expected. I guess you can find a similar habitation but much closer to the center.

Great Staff but far way from town.

Pros:
- The staff is amazing they are always glad to help you, calling a taxi or whathever you need.
- the room was ok is a calm place.
- we asked for a breakfast(we payed for it) but was nice.
Cons:
- it's far away from downtown puerto ayora, you need to walk around 20 minutes to the bridge.
one day we woke up in the morning and we didn't have water to take a shower. Could be an island issue.
- WIFI was not working ok. (could be an island issue)
If you have rent a bike i believe could be a good option,but for us was too far away.

Breakfast was amazing!

We really enjoyed our stay. It is 10 minutes walk to the centre, but we felt safe, so it was no problem. The owner was so kind, she helped with everything (in espanol ofcourse). She made us feel like home. She even did our laundry and she dried it as well.

Owners are delightful, but not that clean and "far" from centet

The owners were really sweet, helpful and friendly!
The garden was nice and cozy.
However, the room (esp. Bathroom) was not that clean. The size was alright.
Also, it is quite "far" from the center compared to other hotels (around 7-10 minutes). But therefore it was quiet at night.
