Colonial style revisited

Colonial structure that combines historical and modern elegance. Located in a central area, it offers spacious rooms, a functional bathroom and an essential personal hygiene kit. The environment is cared for, with a good level of control and safety. The staff is friendly and helpful. Prices are affordable and appropriate to the quality of the services offered. It offers an outdoor breakfast service with vouchers at Pan de Sucre, a well-known historic panaderia.

Hotel is an great location for the historic centre of Quito and was really clean and comfortable.
My only issue was the rooms all overlooked the reception in a courtyard style and the door is always locked. So guests need to ring a buzzer to access the property, then when the door is opened a bell goes off. While this is not a problem in the day, when people come and go at night or early in the morning it does wake you up.
A small issue in a great little hotel.

Nice experience

The location idea and clean. The room had a view of the city and the bathroom was noticeable that it was new. My family enjoyed it even if it was cold at night. Friendliness of the staff was fine. The wifi very well presented no problem.

That's a hostel, not a hotel. It should be clear on the booking. I had to argue for half an hour until proving my booking included breakfast.
The highlight of the stay: Mr's Ivan kindness.

Centro Historico, clean, friendly & cheap

A second-generation family-run operation that has been in the family longer than the brother and sister who now run have been alive, the Hotel Montufar is in the historic center of Quito. It is immaculately clean, offers boiler-supplied hot water showers, rooms with or without cable TV, wi-fi and a great location at $8 a night. Leave the American Express card at home, however. No credit cards accepted.
