The most stunning view

Hamada is very easygoing , laidback and sweet host. The room is spacious and access to the terrace and strawberry cafe.
There are three guest rooms and two shared bathrooms which has the best shower( good pressure and very stable temperature) in Egypt, reasonable clean.
I love enjoying the full Egyptian breakfast (foul - beans, egg, chips, falafel and salad with Egyptian bread) by the picturesque Nile view.
Hamo house is situated in the quiet area in Elephantin Island and has the amazing Nile view.

Very greedy owner and awfull breakfast

The owner is obsessed with money. He made us pay immediately for every consumption. The rooms are old and dusty, the egyptian breakfast was served cold.Cold falafel, french fries and beans...yuk. He offered 'free massage' which we refused. All felt very uncomfortable. Only good thing were the matresses; they were new. The location on elefantine island is very noisy due to passengerboats passing with loud music all day. At 5 in the morning the owner and his staff would wake up with much noise. Not recommendable at all!

Fantastic location, bit unfinished

Hamo House has a stunning location on Elephantine and great views across to Kitchener's Island. The place is clean although the rooftop and surrounds are unfinished. I found Hamo (the host) a little over-bearing. He was around a lot and so I felt I didn't quite have the privacy I'd like. I'd skip the food and breakfast if I were you - not worth it. This place has incredible potential and Hamo is well-meaning if, like I say, very present.

A private and quiet gem on Elphantine Island

We spent a few days staying at Hamo House in January 2021. It is basic looking from the outside but the inside is nicely put together and very clean. Each room opens up onto a terrace that looks out over the Nile River and over to the Botanical Gardens. You can sit and watch boats and Fallucas go by, or you can focus on the abundant bird life that stops by, including the adorable kingfishers that dive for their food right in front of you. This side of the island is VERY peaceful and you will forget that the bustling city of Aswan is only a km away. Hamada is a very gracious host and all of our needs were met above and beyond. We HIGHLY recommend Hamo House if you are looking for a relaxing and peaceful stay on Elphantine Island.

Great host and perfect location

This place is situated on the quiet end of Elephantine Island. It is a great space to detach from Aswan city but still having great access via the continuous 5EGP ferry boat. The host is extremely hospitable and we managed to communicate very well with him. We hope to be able to visit Hamo house again!
