A good and inexpensive hotel
If you are looking for a resort where your biggest daily dilemma is whether to hit the water slide or grab your fourth pastry of the morning, book SUNRISE Aqua Joy Resort right now. We spent a full week here at the end of June as a family, and honestly, we came back home with glowing tans, zero complaints, and at least two extra kilograms of pure happiness (and all-inclusive carbs). Everything is genuinely gorgeous. The moment you walk in, it screams "you are on vacation, forget your mortgage." The pools are huge, sparkling, and surrounded by enough palm trees to make you feel like you’re in a tropical postcard. The grounds are kept so clean it almost made me feel guilty for dropping a single grain of sand from my flip-flops. Almost. Since we had the kids with us, the water slides were basically our second home. Let’s just be real: the slides are fun no matter how old you are. I may or may not have screamed louder than my eight-year-old on the big yellow slide, but hey, high-adrenaline experiences build family bonds! Finding sun loungers requires a tiny bit of morning strategy, but once you stake your claim under a umbrella, you’re set for a day of alternating between swimming and aggressive relaxation. Booked my tours with Sheriff Egypt, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience! Their prices are much lower compared to what hotel guides charge, offering incredible value. I highly recommend booking their private tours to Cairo and Luxor. The English-speaking guides were fantastic—knowledgeable, professional, and very easy to understand. Plus, we traveled in a brand-new, ultra-comfortable minibus (2026 model), which made the long journeys extremely relaxing. Highly recommended! The food is dangerously good and available pretty much 24/7. If you ever feel hungry here, it’s honestly your own fault. From massive buffet spreads with endless options to the a la carte choices, our diet for the week consisted entirely of "just a little bit of everything." The bartenders deserve a medal for keeping up with the endless parade of tropical mocktails for the kids and refreshing drinks for the adults. Pro tip: pace yourself on the desserts, or you’ll roll out of the dining room like one of the pool inflatables. The staff here are absolute wizards. You can tell they run on pure positive energy and professional smiles, even when kids are running around high on sugar and pool water. Everything from check-in to housekeeping was smooth, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. We didn't just have a good time—we had an I-don't-want-to-go-back-to-the-real-world kind of time. If you want a week of gorgeous views, non-stop family fun, and zero stress, SUNRISE Aqua Joy is 100% worth it. Just remember to pack looser pants for the trip home!

The best
Everyday was fun to be there! Starting with the rooms they were clean and spacious, food was delis!! Location was also nice since you’re really not far from shops or restaurants. Service was good, staff were smiling every single day.
The atmosphere there was nice because animation team did really good job keeping us entertained.

Could do better
The hotel is well located, not far from the airport and with plenty of shops right across the street, so there is no need to travel to go shopping.
First night was catastrophic with the construction work located right next to the hotel making an unbearable jackhammer noise until 2:00 a.m., only to start again at 5:30 a.m.
We immediately asked to change rooms, which was accepted and finalized the next afternoon with the help of Ayman, who speaks French.
So, a new room with a view of the pool and no more construction noise.
Major negative points (aside from the construction work outside the hotel):
- the lounge chairs are taken by storm very early in the morning; if you hope to sit by the pool at 10:00 a.m., don't bother looking, you won't find any lounge chairs available.
Furthermore, they are so close to each other that there is no privacy between vacationers.
Honestly, having to get up at the crack of dawn to reserve a lounge chair is not my idea of a relaxing vacation.
- then the main restaurant is extremely noisy, it's a nightmare.
The servers' carts make a terrible noise and it is swarming with people.
It is absolutely not pleasant to eat there; you even have to shout to hold a conversation.
Positive points:
The beach is undeniably an asset,
It is very well laid out and the most relaxing place is on the pier; the canopy beds are as pretty as they are pleasant to lounge on.
Having fled the pools because of the crowds, we found refuge at the beach every day.
The à la carte restaurants available by reservation (the day before) are not limited in number (Italian, Greek, Burger, Egyptian) and are included in the all-inclusive package.
They are very good and the servers are super pleasant.
We therefore went to an à la carte restaurant every evening to avoid the noisy restaurant.
To summarize, the hotel has some great assets, but the negative points I mentioned will force me not to return to this hotel.
There is much better for less money.

Lovely resort, entertainment is not family friendly.
Service: Excellent service. Staff are all very friendly and professional. Everyone from lobby staff to room service and everyone in between.
Food: Great food options. Buffet is excellent quality food. Restaurant is clean and the service is excellent. Snack bars and pool bars are a great option for hungry little ones poolside.
Rooms: Rooms are clean and well kept.
Shows: Shows are not kid friendly. Almost every show which is dancing is a bunch of girls dancing inappropriately to inappropriate songs. In the 4 days we stayed there was no celebration of Egyptian culture. No folklore dance. The "International dance" was basically excevively vulgar Latin dancing. Not nice for families to sit and watch. Very disappointing that this is what people would come to Egypt to see.

This hotel was extremely noisy from 9am throughout the day due to ongoing construction work. Builders were cutting tiles with loud machines, using a digger, and creating a lot of dust and strong burning smells from the tile cutting. It was impossible to relax or enjoy the stay.
The room was very poor for the price we paid. We previously stayed at Alibaba Hotel, which was cheaper, had much larger and more modern rooms, bigger swimming pools, and a huge aqua park. Compared to that, this hotel offers very poor value for money.
On top of this, I made a small mistake with my reservation, and the reservation manager, Ahmed Bakry, charged me $120. He showed no willingness to help or find a solution, so I lost $120 for nothing.
Overall, I am very disappointed with my experience. I will never return to this hotel and do not recommend it to anyone.
