Perfect location and incredibly friendly staff

I had a lovely stay at the Calma Hotel. The location is absolutely very unique, right in the heart of Cairo and so close to everything I wanted to see. The staff were incredibly friendly and always ready to help with a smile, whether it was arranging a taxi or giving tips on local restaurants. My room was spotless and cleaned to a high standard every day. The bed was comfortable and I slept well each night. The breakfast buffet had a nice variety and the coffee was good. I really appreciated the warm welcome upon arrival and the check-in process was smooth and quick. Definately a place I would recommend to anyone visiting Cairo for business or leisure.

Excellent location, few minutes walk to Nasser Metro Station or Ataba Metro Station, (easy to reach any where in the city using metro) surrounded by large varieties of traditional & modern cafes/restaurants, in addition to a large variety of boutique shops on every corner. the area is crowded, relatively safe, best to take metro in and out of the area during traffic time. WI-FI connection is good for working remotely, breakfast is good, staff are friendly and responsive to any issues raised. price is at high of 2 star hotel, but over all, worth the value, the hotel is accessible through semi-dedicated elevator. The room size is comfy and moderate & clean.

Looks exactly like the pictures. It was clean and chic. Also, amazing for the price! The location is a little hard to find but otherwise, no real complaints. I do think one of the guests was smoking and I could smell it in my room.

Scam, Abuse, and Intimidation – Stay Far Away!

I am still shaken after staying here for four nights. From start to finish, this was a nightmare. We couldn’t sleep because of the constant noise—people yelling, loud music all night, and no one cared. The staff were rude, and they never cleaned the room even once.
But what happened at checkout was beyond unacceptable. The owner forced me to pay double the price of my stay just because I lost the room card—something that should have been easily replaced. When I tried to explain how unfair it was, he completely lost control. He started screaming at me, cursing, and making me feel physically unsafe. My chest still hurts from how aggressively he yelled. I was shaking, terrified he was going to hit me.
When I told him I would write everything on Booking.com, he immediately ordered his worker to cancel my booking so I couldn’t leave a review and expose them. That’s how shady they are!
This place is a scam, run by aggressive people who only care about taking your money. If you value your safety and peace of mind, DO NOT STAY HERE. I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone.
