great front desk staff
I wrote part of my review and sent it but missed sending my main point and that was the excellence of the front desk staff. All of them wete helpful and kind. Shanaka was a delight- very helpful and slways smiling. It was a delight talking with the woman from Ukraine. She was lovely to spend time with.

Good Location! A minute walk to the hotel from the main bus stand.atmosphere in the hotel is good. Rooms are neat and spacious enough.
Excellent breakfast spread.
Front desk staff were knowledgeable and very helpful.
Only negative point for me was...no phone in the room. Every time I had a query about a nearby restaurant or sightseeing suggestions etc, I had to come to the reception physically and ask.
A phone in the room will definitely ease the customer's stay.

Almost very good - but way to expensive !
Stayed here for one night due to work in Rovanjemi. The hotel is situated in an older building. If you are afraid of elevators, this hotels elevator will scare you to death. It has not been updated since the hotel was built, but is of course maintained and serviced due to elevator-laws in Finland. The frontdesk was nice. The rooms were great and renovated and updated. Very nice rooms. My room was a twin superior room. Changing the temperature was easy and the room was nice and warm even if it was -20 outside. Very nice bathrooms, but very low waterpressure in the shower, to low to make you feel refreshed ! Nice beds that leaned toward the harder types. Breakfast had a nice spread with everything that you can ask for. The coffee tasted like dishwasher water !!, yes, it was that bad. The dining room (breakfast and lunch) looked like something out of east-germany during the 1950 ,s. Dark, dull and with a total lack of cosy feeling. Amazing to see something like this in 2026!!I would like to give this hotel 4 stars - However, due to the terrible diningroom, and the fact that room costed me 350 euros even if i only stayed in the room for 6 hours lowers the rating to 3 stars. If they charge 350 euros per night, then they should offer a luxury comparable to luxury hotel chains that cost the same per night. And they do no offer tha t luxury. Would I stay here again ? No , it is simply to expensive and lacking in important details.

Exceptional Service and Perfect Location at Postmaster Hotel.
The Postmaster Hotel is conveniently located just a 10-minute walk from the Rovaniemi Railway Station, and the central bus station is only about a 5-minute walk from the front of the hotel, making transit incredibly easy.
While there is a supermarket and a McDonald's nearby, you have to take a bit of a detour to get there, which takes about 15 to 20 minutes on foot.
During the summer, the front desk is staffed from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. We arrived around 8:00 AM on our first day, initially planning just to drop off our bags in the luggage storage room and wait in the lobby lounge until our bus at 9:00 AM. To our complete surprise, around 8:30 AM, the receptionist (who might have been the owner) came over and told us our room was already ready and that we could check in early! We were absolutely thrilled because it was way ahead of the official check-in time, and usually, hotels charge an extra fee for early check-in.
The rooms at the Postmaster Hotel use keypad locks, and the main hotel entrance locks at night, requiring a code to enter as well. They have a charming vintage elevator, which is perfect if you are staying on the second or third floor.
Our room was incredibly spacious and came with a kitchenette, complete with an electric stovetop for cooking hot meals, a microwave, a fridge, and cabinets fully stocked with pots, pans, cups, plates, and utensils. There was even a small breakfast bar where we could sit and enjoy our meals!
The bathroom was spotless, though the vanity countertop was a bit small with limited space for toiletries. As is typical, the shower area was only partially enclosed by a half-wall, so you need to use the squeegee provided to wipe down the floor afterward. Fortunately, the bathroom floor dried pretty quickly.
I found both the bed and the pillows to be very comfortable, and there were plenty of power outlets throughout the room. The hallways outside were bright and beautifully designed.
The breakfast area had a lovely ambiance. They served a standard continental breakfast alongside hot options like scrambled eggs. My absolute favorite part was that, in addition to regular juices, they provided fresh Sunkist oranges and a juicer so you could make your own fresh-squeezed orange juice!
Since we had local tours booked after checking out the next day and weren't catching our train out of Rovaniemi until 9:00 PM, we asked the front desk if we could store our bags. The staff said it was no problem, but noted that they lock the main entrance after they clock out at 4:00 PM, requiring a code to get back in. The receptionist (again, possibly the owner) was incredibly kind—knowing we probably wouldn't be back in the city center until 6:00 or 7:00 PM, she actually reset the entrance code just for us so we could get inside to grab our bags after hours.
When we finally finished our day and returned to the hotel, we were shocked to find the main doors propped open with a potted plant. As we walked into the lobby, we saw the same lady we spoke with that morning arranging decorations. It was clear she had already gone home after shift to freshen up and change. I don't know if she came back to the hotel specifically for us, but it was such a heartwarming gesture!
Rovaniemi is such a welcoming place, and I highly recommend the Postmaster Hotel from the bottom of my heart!

Breakfast very good, vicinity to the railway station an asset, 10 min walk to the centre of Rovaniemi, rooms and kitchen fully equipped, value for money excellent.
