Exceptional value beautiful solo room in Petite Venise

I loved my three-night stay at Le Maréchal. I booked directly with the hotel and paid €117/night for my single room, which felt like an amazing value for such a beautiful location and level of comfort.
My room, “Purcel” (Room 34), was designed for solo travellers but had a comfortable double bed, six windows including two overlooking the canal, a mini fridge, Nespresso machine, kettle, safe, and plenty of storage. The renovated bathroom had a huge bathtub, thick towels, robe and slippers, and luxurious Lalique toiletries. There were also thoughtful amenities such as a sewing kit, manicure set, cotton pads and shoe-shine sponge.
The air conditioning was exceptional and by far the most powerful and effective AC I experienced during my entire European trip, even during very hot summer weather. That made a huge difference at night.
The location is fantastic: right in the heart of Petite Venise, within easy walking distance of everything, and only about 15 minutes on foot from the train station. The staff were friendly and spoke English, and they kindly helped me with my luggage because my room required navigating some stairs.
There were a few quirks: the safe didn't work even after being reset, the old-fashioned room key was a little inconvenient, and the bathtub is under a low sloped ceiling with no shower curtain or splash protection, so using the shower can result in water on the floor. Conditioner and body lotion were also not provided, so bring your own.
One amusing highlight was looking out my windows and seeing tourists on the bridge below gawking at the beautiful hotel and its canal view; it felt like I was the paparazzi target!
I would absolutely stay here again. Beautiful, comfortable, excellent location, genuinely luxurious touches, and outstanding value for a solo traveller.

Unique setting, great place in Colmar

We stayed in the height of the heat in August for one night. Walked here from the station - not too far and doable. We were upgraded and had a lovely double room with a view our to the canal at the back, a massive double bed and a fabulous bathroom. The aircon was very welcome on such a hot day and worked very efficently. This is an old building with all the novelty and charm you get with that.
Easy to walk into Little Venice, lots of lovely old buidlings surrounding the area. Staff were really helpful and happy to sort out whatever was needed. We didn't eat here so can't comment on the food. Colmar was a lovely place to visit and we really enjoyed our time here.
Would stay again.

Exceptional moment

Very beautiful experience and exceptional moment. Especially the meeting with Laura, a "waitress" who tells you with a smile and a sparkle in her eyes magnificent stories about the wines she offers you, who listens, takes the time, and puts you at ease from the beginning to the end of the evening. Just too good.... Thanks also to the dining room manager. If I say that the carrots were crunchy but still well cooked, he might remember who wrote the review. And also a special mention to the kitchen, which not only took into account all the intolerances, but knew how to give us incredible pleasure with an exceptional cherry chutney, a sublime lemongrass sauce, and an extraordinary variation on (peeled) tomatoes accompanying a fabulous secreto. Also worth noting, the breakfast as well as the calm and serenity of this terrace by the water. Thanks to everyone.

Perfect location, service, comfort and food! Full score!

Hotel Le Maréchal was ideal for us. In style with Colmar as a village. Old style, but very comfortable with excellent service. The hotel is located ideally in Little Venice just minutes walk away from the city centre. A very cosy walk along the canal, via the market and you are there. Parking was easy, right outside the hotel with a spacious public parking and private parking is possible to book. Room was comfortable, classic style bed, but with a modern fresh bathroom. Breakfast was delicious and it is possible to sit partly outside along the canal for breakfast. We had dinner in the restaurant and that was very high class food and service. Highly recommendable place. Well done Maréchal!

Colmar and this hotel were actually the highlight of our 3 weeks trip to France. The hotel had a great location, amazing decor and great breakfast. We had a family suite in the annex and LOVED it. I have read that people were disappointed sometimes not to stay in the main hotel, but we did not mind at all. We have 2 rooms, one of the strongest AC in the whole trip (heatwave:(), nice decoration and great bed! The hotel staff was amazing! My husband has to work there, and they allowed us to stay till 12 and after that gave him a room to work till 3 pm. It was a life saver for him. We reserved parking upfront and it was 10 minutes' walk from the hotel, however, how I understood you can park across the hotel. Breakfast was great (still pricey in my opinion but it seems that it is a regular price this summer). Highly recommended this hotel!!
