I paid for a night of rest and comfort; I had neither, not even the deserved apologies.
First of all, an amplified musical event in the immediate vicinity of the establishment generated noise pollution of exceptional intensity for many hours (starting from 4 p.m. until 1 a.m.). Furthermore, around 3 a.m., a group of young people came and sat under our window, even though chairs from this hotel restaurant are available 24/7 on the sidewalk. It was therefore impossible to rest or enjoy the room peacefully.
The situation was all the more difficult because the room, located on the top floor, did not have air conditioning. In the summer, this would not have been a problem if we had been able to open the window to let in a little cool air. However, between the heat accumulated under the roof and the noise outside, we found ourselves without any reasonable way to ventilate or cool the room.
Not to mention the coffee machine, which was malfunctioning and letting a significant amount of water leak onto the small table that supported it. This appliance deserves to be checked or replaced.
Faced with these inconveniences, I received neither apologies, nor any sign of understanding, nor a commercial gesture. Although the hotel is probably not responsible for the event organized nearby, a hospitality professional should show empathy toward their guests when their stay is severely degraded.
I am therefore leaving with the feeling of having paid for a service that was not provided under normal conditions of comfort and rest.

Our room was unbearably hot during the 35°C weather. I appreciate that not every hotel has air conditioning, but there wasn’t even a fan provided. The room became almost impossible to sleep in.
We were travelling with our 19-month-old toddler, who couldn’t get to sleep until after midnight because of the heat and has since developed a heat rash. I’m also 35 weeks pregnant, which made the conditions even more difficult.
The only way to make the room remotely bearable was to keep the windows open. Unfortunately, there was a party nearby that continued until around 3am, meaning we had to choose between unbearable heat or excessive noise. While I appreciate the party itself wasn’t the hotel’s fault, a simple fan would at least have allowed us to close the windows for some of the night.
Most disappointing of all is that I contacted the hotel directly to give them the opportunity to address these concerns before leaving a public review, but they chose not to respond.
Good customer service isn’t about never having problems—it’s about how you deal with them. Sadly, on this occasion, the hotel failed on both counts.
