Overnight stay to collect rescue dog in Brittany

Lovely double room for us and our dog Louis. Very comfortable beds and not the owners fault that it was so hot! Breakfast was rather stodgy. As a diabetic I would have appreciated rather more choice - croissants might have been an easy alternative..?

And when I am told that my dog(s) are welcome and that on site, they must remain tied up. In the middle of the countryside. I say no!!
At the Lesvaniel estate in southern Finistère...
Really disappointing.and no kind welcome...incredible

Les animaux sont en effet les bienvenus mais nous demandons à ce qu'ils soient tenus en laisse dans les parties communes et sur la terrasse par respect pour les autres occupants qui ne sont pas obligés d'apprécier les chiens ou qui peuvent eux même avoir des chiens moins sociables que les vôtres . Le domaine de Lesvaniel s'étendant sur 31 hectares, il reste toutefois quelques chemins, bois et prairies ou se promener "en liberté".

Pleasant, secluded rural B&B

We stayed for one night as part of our cycling tour round Brittany. The hosts were very welcoming and our room was basic but nice. There are pleasant areas to sit outside. Our evening meal was very good. Overall, a very nice place for a single night stay.

Petite précision: nous sommes un hôtel classé et non des chambres d'hôtes même si l'accueil par le propriétaire, le petit nombre de chambres (10) et l'emplacement en pleine campagne peuvent parfois en donner l'impression.

Peaceful and quiet but not value for money

We stayed here for a week to attend a wedding in Quimper. The location and immediate area is very nice and rural and a great starting point for exploring Brittany and its many beaches.
The room itself however was a bit below par: all rooms cost the same but we stayed in a damp, dark room within the former stable, with a very small bed - uncomfortable for a couple. Other rooms had nicer views, modern bathrooms and weren't damp.
Breakfast in this place is a joke: everyday it consists of pre-made industrial bland pancakes (crepes) and toast that comes out of a carton. And tastes like carton. Absolutely no effort whatsoever was put in the breakfast. Assuming it was included in the price of EURO 60,- per night, we'd have just tea or coffee and eat somewhere else. However, to our surprise we were charged an extra EURO 9,- per breakfast.
The rooms lack a fridge or even a kettle.
On the plus side: nice, secluded location. A very fun and fragrant pet goat behind the main building. But comparing this place to other B&B type places we've been it comes off unfavourably.

Great location let down by poor food

In a very quiet location with wonderful views. Dinner is a set menu but most came out of the freezer. Included meat balls and soggy vegetables. We found other guests ate out and now we know why! Adjoins stables and plenty of flies to share our meal
