A beautiful night in this beautiful house!
We had the pleasure of being upgraded, very appreciative attention. The room baroque style, was large, nicely decorated, large comfortable bed, original and appreciable shower!
The house has only 4 bedrooms, in a beautiful village building. The entrance is autonomous, without reception, which is very well done. A kitchen is available on the ground floor.
Small touches: mini-bar with free drinks and a bottle of rosé.
The breakfast is rather classic in a bar / restaurant in the village square.
We are absolutely not disappointed with our stay in Lourmarin and recommend this address without hesitation.

Extremely Frustrating Check-In Experience and Poor Communication
Our experience at La Maison de Lourmarin began as a total nightmare. There’s no reception desk or staff on-site, which could be okay if they provided clear check-in instructions, but they didn't. To get in, you need a 4-digit entry code, but we never received it via email or text before arriving, not even on check-in day.
When we got there, we were basically locked out with no way to get in. We spent nearly three hours trying to reach the host. We called multiple times from our U.S. number, but no one picked up. We ended up racking up $20–30 in international call charges without any resolution. Thankfully, a friendly local helped by calling the property using a French number, and only then did they get the access code. But that raised another red flag where a random stranger now had the code to get into the property, which feels like a serious security issue.
And that wasn’t all. We had no idea before booking or checking in that vehicle access would be limited during our stay. So, we had to park nearly 3 kilometers away and haul all our luggage to the apartment.
To top it off, there was a loud party going on with music blasting all night—something we were never told about beforehand. The noise was so bad that we couldn't sleep.
A place that relies fully on self-check-in needs to have solid communication and clear directions. Sadly, this experience was all about poor communication, a lack of transparency, and way too much stress. I wouldn’t stay here again, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to other travelers.

Not a hotel
Fortunately, we were in a larger room (Room 2). I have seen reviews online criticizing some of the other rooms as being too small. Unfortunately, the air conditioning unit was not functioning properly. There was no acknowledgement nor responses to the text messages sent. There no remedy provided.
As an asset, it is located in the center of the commercial area. The cafés and shops are right in front of you. However, the after-hours noise will be an annoyance if you want to sleep with the windows open.
Next time, I will opt for a local Airbnb.
