A step in calm and serenity
This is the second time I have stayed overnight at this property, on my way back from vacation (Paray-le-Monial is about halfway along the route). From that angle, I knew exactly what to expect. So my son and I have found with pleasure, even for one night, this peaceful and inspired house, where we feel welcome by the owners.
As far as I remember, the room was the one from the previous year (in 2023). I had already written all the property I thought of the establishment, which allows to stage at very moderate Award in good comfort. And of course I confirm what I said! If I have the opportunity to return to Paray-le-Monial in the next few years, I will not hesitate to return.

A pleasant and relaxing stopover gite
For several years, for reasons of convenience, Paray-le-Monial has established itself as an essential stopover town on the way back from our vacation in France. Both by its geographical location - approximately 400 km from our place of residence in Germany - and by the timeless charm which emanates from this charming Burgundian city which sees countless pilgrims pass through each year.
Even if our episodic passages contain no religious motivation, how can we not nevertheless feel a form of spiritual appeasement and elevation of the soul when faced with the sober splendor of the Romanesque vaults of the admirable Sacré-Coeur basilica? From this angle of approach, the Maison Saint-Louis, located within walking distance of the historic center, fits perfectly into the atmosphere of contemplation which seizes travelers, whether they come - like us - by car private, by train or on foot. This feeling is reflected both in the kindness of the welcome received from the owners, Mr. and Mrs. Berthe, as well as in the tone of the decoration of the premises, even in the layout of the rooms - ours had a pray God.
Some observations of a material nature now: it is possible to park your car right in front of the front door, and the path between it and the rooms - all upstairs - is reduced to a minimum. Appreciable when the trunk of said car is cluttered with belongings for two weeks of vacation, and one of the doors no longer locks... You can also leave luggage on the ground floor. Obviously, the operation in reverse when leaving is carried out with the same ease!
Furthermore, even if Maison Saint Louis does not offer breakfast, a collective kitchen - on the same level as the three rooms - is available to visitors. Equipped with all the necessary equipment, including a refrigerator for storing your own food. Obviously, it is everyone's responsibility to put everything back in order after use. The shower cubicles and toilets (which it is recommended not to use between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.) are also located upstairs, certainly outside the rooms, but only a few steps away.
Finally, the numerous shelves offer a rich and eclectic choice of books of all kinds, as well as various games - to possibly brighten up a rainy day. Pleasant interior garden where it is good to relax. If we add the fact that the night costs less than 50 euros, we have found the ideal place for a future return home! Please note, Maison Saint Louis only has three rooms, so it will be prudent to book well in advance...

Best time ...sleeping among the vineyards
This is the most personable place I have ever stayed period. The very friendly staff is awesome. Breakfast in the courtyard with morning church bells (Yes ...this used to be a church).....just simply outstanding. Library with some great music. What an experience.

Style pension de famille. Accueil top! J'ai logé dans la chambre indienne. Déco bien choisie. Literie ++. Plusieurs salles d'eau. Cusine équipée pour éventuellemnt prendre ses repas. A quelques minutes de marche du centre ville.
