A dream crossing
In the middle of nowhere, a little paradise of ultra-comfortable rooms and gourmet cuisine. Gavin, a very welcoming host and exceptional winemaker, is accompanied by a chef, Antoine, who is outstanding, worthy of a Michelin star. Do not miss a stay at La Traversée.

Wonderful, authentic place to stay!
Wonderful getaway with friends. We hired the entire place. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming, Gavin - the host - is very friendly, and a great winemaker. The bedrooms and bathrooms are beautifully designed and high-spec. It’s in a pretty village, and easy to travel around the area. Would definitely recommend.

An enchanted parenthese
Extremely comfortable and quiet rooms with bathroom and bathroom, some very spacious and decorated with very good taste. King Size bedding (200x200) with great comfort.
Table d’hôtes at the height of the rooms. Sophisticated and cared for cuisine by a very talented chef (A nod for Macarons worthy of the great Parisian names.

Gavin and his chef welcomed us with great kindness and unfailing helpfulness.
Hate to get back into that little cocoon of voluptuousness.

A place to discover throughout the year
An improvised family reunion at the Gite La Traversée, just after the holidays. Gavin, the owner, showed us a sumptuous and refined place, with its cellars, its garden... a haven of peace. For dinner, a special festive menu, designed and made by Chef Antoine Loiseau, was served to us. I'm still licking my fingers.
We then spent an excellent night in an enchanting setting. Breakfast is not continental, and good. It is hearty, with local products. Everything to start the day right. Well, you get it, I'm a fan!

Perfect weekend escape with friends - beautiful design, food and wine
La Traversee is a really special place. It's a small winery thats been making great wine for some time and after a recent refurbishment you can now stay on-site. It's effectively a bed and breakfast but our group took over all the rooms and took advantage of Antoine's cooking.
The bedrooms were stunning - peaceful and beautifully furnished, comfortable beds and stylish bathrooms ( our friends had the suite with the giant copper tub - unfortunately I didnt get a soak).
The design is just lovely.
The property is in the village of Les salces, St Privat is a 5 minute walk away and stunning, even in the rain.
We enjoyed the chef Antoine's 5 course tasting menu - he prepares the food in the open kitchen, the large communal area during the day. We lay around drinking wine, chatting and reading.
Gavin was a great host, we enjoyed his wine - La Traversee ( a luscious red) and other wines from the region, all were for sale there and to take away.
Breakfast is included and the 5 course tasting menu is optional. It would have been great if the epicerie - little grocer - across the road was open for us to source some bread and cheese etc for in between ( we drive to Lodeve instead). Apparently a new owner will be opening it soon.
All in all, a serene weekend with good company - we will be back.
