A unique experience!

We absolutely do not regret our choice to book the weekend at the Alteville castle. The setting is magnificent, splendid, calm, and relaxing. And what can be said about our fabulous host David who really knows how to welcome his guests. Everything is designed to have pleasant moments and make wonderful encounters. David is dedicated, always present. The rooms are superb, the bedding is truly excellent, we slept very well. The rooms of the castle are sumptuous with their period furniture. As for the cuisine with farm products, it is flawless. We highly recommend this unique place and it is with great pleasure that we will return soon. Thank you, David, his wife, Louise, and the staff.
Note: It is also necessary to visit Tarquimpol, its small church, its museum, and go to the Basse-Lindre dam to admire the hundreds of species of birds and animals on the preserved Lindre pond. A magnificent place to recharge.

Countryside Charme

Daniel P
5/5

Unexpected stroke of luck.
While on a spontaneous bike tour, I decided to stay overnight.
The hotel occupies the more elegant part of a rural manor/château, nestled in a typical and truly picturesque natural and cultural landscape of Lorraine.
The available photos genuinely reflect reality.
Anyone who grew up in the countryside will feel nostalgic at the tranquility and the scent of wood, stone, and earth.
However, one should be aware that this is not a 5-star superior luxury retreat — just to avoid any misunderstandings, should that be the expectation.
Charming, beautifully decorated room. Comfortable bed. Spotlessly clean.
Dinner is available upon prior notice and, if desired, enjoyed in the company of the hosts.
Local, lovingly prepared cuisine with high-quality ingredients.
The short time I spent there gave me a lot to reflect on. In a positive way.
Many thanks to the hosts.

I will come back !

The owner of the site, David, gave us an excellent, warm and friendly welcome. You can't help but feel comfortable from the first hours. The beauty of the place is matched only by the calm that reigns there. It's the ideal place to escape from everyday life, to find a little serenity. Very good times spent at the aperitif, at dinner but also at the digestive time where we find ourselves chatting and laughing with people we have only just met. This is possible in large part thanks to David who does everything to ensure that the hosts interact with each other and get to know each other. As for the meals, they are very qualitative with very good products. Especially for the price! Dinner is an unmissable moment as it is friendly and highlights the interest of this guest house. The royal bedroom is spacious, as is its bathroom. Very beautiful view of the castle garden. Special mention for David's son-in-law who excels in the art of service and who demonstrates professionalism, much more than professional waiters, all with a smile.
In short, the whole family stands out for its kindness. Would not change a thing.
There is no doubt that I would come back, and that I would be tempted again by a few glasses of mirabelle plum!!!
Stay from September 4 to 6. Three days, two nights. Junior.

Beautiful building, very friendly

We spent all too short a time on our visit. This chateau is an excellent base for exploring the local area. It is a lovely old building and has been sympathetically modernised into a bed and breakfast (with dinner as an option).
It is a great opportunity to taste country house living - with a choice of library + billiard table, small. and large sitting rooms - all furnished in a period styles. Breakfast and dinner were very good and there is also an honesty bar. Our room was very large and spacious, with lovely garden views and included a sizeable bathroom with huge bath and double shower and twin sinks. Great for a romantic trip away.
Don't go expecting high end hotel facilities - it isn't that, but it is a very good (and very good value) B+B, beautifully furnished in period, in a lovely location with very friendly and helpful owners.

Very good location
