Luxury like in the last century

Wonderful experience …… like visiting a luxury hotel one hundred years ago. The surroundings are excellent and it is the best room we have had on our trip ny train thorough europe from Edinburgh to Copenhagen.
We upgrated the room to 40 m2 ….. so much space for two people with four pieces of luggage. The luggage was in our room few minutes after check-in. There is always a member of the staff to ask og everybody says hello, when you look at them. Sometimes it seemed like there were more staff than guests.
There was a small problem around breakfast with a very long queue for the restaurant - the staff seemed confused. But we got our breakfast and it was excellent.

Fantastic!

We had such a lovely stay! The hotel was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, and we felt very well taken care of throughout our visit. Would definitely recommend and happily stay again!

Luxury hotel in downtown Berlin.

Fantastic hotel conveniently located right near the Brandenburg Gate. Easily accessible to subway, cabs and everything is close by. The rooms are super spacious as are the bathrooms. Comfy robes and amenities. Love the steam shower, that was a bonus. The breakfast was sensational. We had a fantastic view of the Brandenburg Gate from out our window, Front desk staff (as everyone else) were really exceptional. What a lovely hotel!

Fully prepaid stay, but mistakenly charged €1,060 at checkout—and still waiting on the refund a month later.

Our family stayed here for two nights in July 2026 on a fully prepaid Costco travel package. While we were excited for our very first visit to Germany, our experience with the hotel's billing department has been incredibly frustrating.
At checkout, the hotel mistakenly posted a €1,060 incidental "hold" as a finalized, actual charge to my credit card. I contacted their billing and finance department, and they stated that a refund was processed on July 29. However, as of August 26, the funds are still missing from my account.
It is highly unusual for a hotel to make a billing error of this magnitude and leave the customer chasing their money for weeks. I am currently still trying to get this corrected and will update this review if and when the refund finally clears.

For a 5-star hotel, there are some disappointing aspects—for instance, the entire breakfast experience: the bread wasn't good, and most other items were just mediocre. Table service on weekends leaves much to be desired; every day, I had to beg to get coffee and a boiled egg served at my table. But don't worry—you can help yourself to the rest without having to beg for assistance. Good luck.
