Excellent experience!
Faultless. This really is your home from home in Berlin! We stayed six nights while I ran the Berlin marathon. We really fell on our feet choosing The Gate Garden. It's very close (two blocks) to the S Line train to Nordbahnhof station and the tram (light rail) to the main railway station runs right by the hotel. The staff are absolutely superb, we were warmly greeted every time we came in or went out and nothing was too much trouble for them. We chose a garden room and it was really quiet, you wouldn't believe that you are in a bustling capital city. The gardens themselves are really well kept and we spent a couple of afternoons there reading our books with a cup of coffee. There's a little drinks station set up where you can grab tea and coffee, plus a well stocked fridge with beer and wine for sale. Make sure you introduce yourself to Maxi the cat! If you want to go out for breakfast there's a couple of nice places on the same block as the hotel. There's a ReWe supermarket a few blocks away so you can pick up snacks and essentials for the room. If we return to Berlin there's absolutely no doubt we'd stay here. Yes, there's no elevator so be sure to let them know in the reservation that you need a room with easy access and they will look after the details for you.

A hidden gem
A fabulous experience from start to finish. This is a beautiful, boutique hotel but without any sense of pretension or stuffiness. The reception staff were always so warm and willing to help. Our children fell in love with Maxi the hotel cat and were allowed into the hotel office to visit him during breakfast hours, which was very kind.
The hotel is perfectly situated just a 2 minute walk from the nearest underground station, which will take you into central Berlin in 5-10 minutes.
The rooms are very large and quiet. Our studio came equipped with its own kitchenette and seating area.
The garden is the cherry on the cake, especially during the sweltering Berlin summer. It is shady, verdant and offers a wonderful space to retreat to at the end of a busy day.

Great spot in the city
What a fabulous spot. Close to many restaurants, public transportation and attractions. The staff was fabulous; accommodating and helpful. We were there for a family wedding and our clothes were wrinkled from travel and Mariia tracked down a steamer for us! Breakfast was delicious with many choices. Such a treat to eat in the garden and spend time there at the end of the day. Loved the sweet hotel cat!

The Gate Garden hotel is a beautiful little oasis
You could not find a friendlier, lovier spot in Berlin! The rooms are comfortable (as European mattresses go, very comfortable) - those facing the road are very spacious compared to typical European hotels, but if you don’t mind a smaller space for a single traveler, the garden view rooms are lovely. They even have a couple apartments on the top floors that are very spacious and comfortable - we used one as a working space for my team and it was perfect. Just be prepared for the steps!
The garden itself is quiet and beautiful. A great spot for breakfast and an evening drink with family or friends. The breakfast was great each morning as well. But by far the best aspect, was the amazing staff - so welcoming, accommodating and helpful. Tami, in particular, was incredible - helping us with recommendations and reservations, leaving special little treats in our room including a photo of our families (we were there for 2 weeks). She truly made the hotel feel like home!
Finally, the hotel well positioned between a key tram/S-bahn station (3 min walk) and the underground (5 min walk) that could get you easily to anywhere in the city. Highly recommend this gem!

Absolutely amazing
This is a real gem in Berlin. Because let's face it. Berlin is a city, a busy city with lots of concrete. Want an oasis of peace in beautiful greenery to return to after a busy day of sightseeing? Look no further, this is your hotel. Not only is it beautifully decorated with great attention to detail, the service of the staff is extremely friendly and truly sublime. Staff are on hand with good tips on restaurants and Things to do nearby. The rooms themselves are super clean and very comfortable. We had a room on the street side, but did not suffer from the noise of street traffic. There is no air conditioning in the room, but on our trip it was 31 degrees and the room was cool. The breakfast was super fresh and much was homemade. In short, an absolute must if you are looking for peace, coolness and greenery in busy Berlin.
