Great place if you're on a lower budget
The hotel is super old, the rooms and toilets are also super old, but I thought it was pretty good!
The rooms were pretty big, there was a small TV with a few channels, bathroom (the soap they gave was the all-in-one type), towels, etc. No room slippers and storage safe though.
Breakfast was typical German: coffee, tea, schinken, bread, cheese, some fruits, Müsli, cereal, boiled eggs. Nothing fancy but it came with our room so why not.
Staff were friendly and spoke English :)

Catastrophe
This hotel is absolutely not recommended. The cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. There is dust everywhere, actually dirt, a sock from the previous guest under the bed, broken bed linen, no smoke detector, etc. Photos available

Catastrophic room
Completely shabby, musty room (31). Mold in the bathroom, hair on the hairdryer. Dirty floor tiles with the previous tenant's hair. Absolute total failure and a disgrace to offer something like that. I canceled immediately after one night. The staff accepted it without comment.

Never again. Being cheap is good.
Location near the center/S-Bahn/park. Street in front of the hotel with moderate traffic. Front garden unkempt with old storm damage that has not been cleared. Sufficient parking spaces at the building.
Musty smell - especially in the hotel entrance area. Narrow spiral staircase/no elevator = difficult with luggage/for older people.
70s STYLE; worn and dingy. Poor buffet.
Room size sufficient, separate mini hallway with table and 2 chairs; spacious bathroom. Shower, like everything else, very old. Mattresses soft, sheets full of holes. TV was a disaster - and not because of the only 4 channels available.
Due to the discomfort in the dining room, we rarely use it. Cobwebs, dusty decorations, unappetizing brown stains on the more than 50-year-old curtains; disgusting factor. Sparse, constantly repetitive selection of cold cuts. No extras like oat milk/lactose-free etc. No fruit of any kind - except on Sundays (apples). Until then, a lonely orange was left to mold on the large cake stand.

time travel
Having no other choice I decided to stay there.
If you like to time travel and the early 80's are your "thing" this place could be good for you.
The only new items seem to be the WMF coffee machine in the breakfast room and a Mac in the lobby (probably doesn't work as the can't produce invoices at check-out -> they are only emailed after departure and later than promised).
Service is bare minimum.
Cleanliness so so (no dust and sticky surfaces, but long hair on sheets and L'Eau de renfermé).
If all this meets your preferences (or you are desperate for a room), this is the place to be...
